I am curious if you are having the same results as I am as to the location of your buyers (few and far between as they may be).

You may remember that I had a wonderful repeat and repeat buyer. She started buying in December, after the holidays and continued buying up until a few weeks ago, many, many items. She was from TX. Now I noticed upon reviewing sales that about 65% of my sales are to TX!!(Not even counting this buyer.) Does anyone else have this?? Is this oil money??

Other things I have noticed. I sell internationally. Years ago many of my items were sold to Japan. Not any more.

I have never sold an item to Mexico or any country in South America. Do they have Ebay there??

I sell a lot to Australia and most countries in Europe. I have sold to Turkey and Greece.

Are these results common? Just curious.

I sell alot to Texas as well, but most of my buyers are in New York - I am located on the East Coast, so shipping will be less expensive for those on the East Coast as well - so I attribute it to that.

I haven't had any sales to Japan in a while either, and I used to have many buyers there. As for South America, I don't ship there, but I get inquiries from buyers there asking if I will - the postal services there are too screwed up and the packages don't make it there.

Lately I've had alot of buyers from Eastern Europe - Czech Republic, Poland, etc. the shipping stinks there too, so I've stopped shipping there.

Last week, despite stating I do not ship to Eastern Europe nor South America, I had buyers in Chile and the Czech Republic. They were decent prices, so I agreed to ship via Global Express.

I've been noticing lately that I have more buyers from Texas. I've always gotten lots of buyers in Florida, NY State, and California.

Now that you mention it - I've had more Texas buyers lately too.
My sales to California & New York have always been good.

I've noticed this peculiar pattern in the past too. Lately, most of my buyers were from Texas and Pennsylvania. In the past, it would seem that most of my buyers were from one or two locations...and it varied from week to week. I also think this is odd and can't figure out any reason for it. I generally have a significant number of Australian buyers...LOVE the Aussies! Without exception, I've found them to pay quickly and to be friendly and courteous.

I'm on the east coast, also. Still CA is my runner-up for sales after TX. NY and WA are good, also. I've sold items to Alaska and Hawaii, but very little to the middle of the country.

It's interesting that some of you have had inquiries from South American countries even if you do not sell to that region. I have never sold an item to South America in 10 years on Ebay and my listings say I ship Worldwide. I thought perhaps they did not have access to Ebay.

I sold a few items to Brazilian,so they do have access to Ebay, but I heard there is a local auction site which is more popular than Ebay in Brazil.

There is a SA internet auction site, but it is relatively new.

I sell a bunch to mostly western states - Calif - Oregon - Washington - Utah - Nevada, with the northeast running a close second..NY - NJ and most definitely Mass.

I don't sell much internationally but most of the inquiries come from Aussies. I will sell to Aussies and Canadians if they ask.

Oh and of course Texas. Like everyone else it seems.

I get mostly Texas and along the east coast from New York to Florida. I keep track of my sales with the Google Earth map. I use push pins. It's pretty cool.
