I heard from Tom & ralphie a little over 2 weeks ago & he seemed OK, not his usual funny self though & not much to say.
That still doesn't explain why he hasn't posted lately though.

Yes, I checked his auctions, and he has over 300 items in his eBay store. It looks as if he has been very busy, maybe he hasn't had time to post here. I hope they are both okay.

Oh, Geez! SORRY, everybody!
The last few weeks have been yucky, and just haven't been up to following the threads on the EO...
My roomie & I have kinda been hibernating in our humble abode...
The GOOD NEWS?
Finally, after TWO TERRIBLE years suffering with his TERRIBLE TUMMY TROUBLES, we accidentally SOLVED it!
I ran out of his special food I was buying at PET SMART & didn't have a ride up there, so I bought a small bag of BENEFUL HEALTHY WEIGHT just to tide us over? And GUESS WHAT! THAT CURED HIS TERRIBLE TUMMY TROUBLES! It's been over 10 WEEKS NOW and HRH has had absolutely perfectly delightfully formed & comfortable BMs ever since! WHAT A MEDICAL MIRACLE! His VET sold us a small bag ($20 !!!) of some kinda RX food, & it gave the poor kid EXPLOSIVE POOPS! But NOW when we go "out" for his "constitutionals," it's a JOY as opposed to the AGONY we suffered with for TWO YEARS over -- probably brought on by VACCINATIONS, which Ralphie is extremely sensitive to. THANK GOODNESS his present VET is amenable to a VACCINATION schedule that takes into account Ralphie's extreme sensitivities...
SO, we FINALLY conquered one problem...
ONLY to bump our heads against a NEW HEALTH PROBLEM ...
HE NOW CHEWS HIS TOES!
I was waking up in the middle of the night to the scarey sounds of: "Chomp...Chomp...Chomp..."
I run out to the kitchen, and there's ole LARD-BUTT chomping on his TENDER TOOTSIES and he really made a MESS of his front paws!
Oi! Back to the VET we go...(I dread VET visits, as it ALWAYS means a $150 - $200 bill no matter WHAT)...
She's convinced it's ALLERGIES and wanted to start him on STEROIDS, but, with Ralphie's history of TUMMY TROUBLES, she decided to try him on ANTIHISTAMINES (HYDROXAZINE 50mg) first...It seems to be working, as I'm no longer waking up in the middle of the night to him CHOMPING on his toes...
BTW: if anybody here purchases PRESCRIPTION PET MEDS from 1-800-PET-MEDS, here's a great COUPON you can use to save $10:
10RX
It only works for PRESCRIPTION MEDS!
So, anyhoo, that's Ralphie's recent saga...
Me, I'm having loads of fun (NOT) with my PAIN DOC...I'm convinced he's out to GET me ("Help! Help! The PARANOIDS are after me...")
He keeps ADDING meds to my REGIMEN to the point where I sometimes PASS OUT...It's gotten to the point where I'm apprehensive about taking just a simple shower -- I'm afraid I'll pass out & fall over in the shower & croak...
A few weeks ago, my RIGHT hand went totally NUMB (and remains so) and my LEFT hand is 50% numb...When they ain't NUMB, they're ON FIRE...AND I MEAN: ON FIRE!
So, now I'm waiting for SHANDS to call with an appointment with the HAND surgeon, as my PCP is convinced I have CARPEL TUNNEL along with 3 TRIGGER FINGERS!
PLUS, all the BS with feeBay really has me DOWN in the DUMPS!
Although the $0.25 SALE is GREAT for our SCALES-&-BALANCES business! Ralphie & I have been BUSY little BEAVERS the past 3 days, LISTING + LISTING + LISTING...
Oi! What a GREAT DEAL for us?
Anyhoo, I can't type any longer as I can't feel my fingers any longer, but to all out there in VD-LAND, Ralphie & I say:

Good to hear from you Tom. Glad Ralphie's troubles are mostly over, it is time for yours to be, as well. I will hold good thoughts for you!

Glad to hear about Ralphie Tom, I know that makes you feel a whole lot better. There is nothing worse than having your kids or pets sick. I hope you get some help also.

I know what you mean about the pet tummy troubles. I have an old feline I adopted when I moved here. She ralphes at nothing, but over the course of time I have learned which cat foods she has problems with. She can eat some of the vet food. I have another cat with long hair on his tummy which sheds this hot weather. He has a battle with hair balls. We have to give him mineral oil quite often. He is such a big cat it takes tons of the food with hairball additives to work on him. He will actually wake you up in the night when he starts feeling bad even though he hates the mineral oil.

tom - I know what you mean - I have one with pancreatic problems and one with kidney stones. Honestly I have tried every dry dog food known to man (Vet dog food - Holistic dog food etc etc) and the one they like the best and causes no problems is.....Purina One Sensitive Stomach. I'll be glad to send you a generous size *doggy bag* so Ralphie can try it out if you want me to.
I've even set several different brands of dog food out and Purina One SS is the only one they eat. Even the high faulting high priced ones. Go figure.
Ralphie says I'm SENILE -- I've forgotten where I left my POST-IT pads!
GG:
The "cure" was totally by accident!
I just grabbed any ole bag off the shelf, expecting his usual nasty reaction...And believe me, we tried EVERYTHING, including that terrible $20/small bag PRESCRIPTION DIET DOG FOOD...Rhey ALL gave the poor kid scarey EXPLOSIVE poops!
This nastiness went on for TWO YEARS, through TWO VETS!
Lo and behold!
This cheapo food (BENEFUL HEALTHY WEIGHT) has worked like a charm now for over TWO MONTHS!
TWO MONTHS of sheer BM BLISS...
Tis a JOY now to walk him...Looking at his face, you can almost hear him saying: "Oooh!Aaah! Oh! Daddy! It's so NICE to take a COMFORTABLE DUMP!"

Tom - That Beneful is great! We used to feed it to Summer. It was the only food that didn't cause her to throw up from either end.
posted on July 21, 2008 01:33:34 AM...& Neglus & Pixiamom, unless I have missed some posts!
I just got back from visiting with Mom and sibs (pixiamom and another sister and brother) and in-laws and nephews at the Oregon coast - no internet or cell phone. Had a wonderful time - back to work tomorrow.
The gathering was scheduled months before our mother had cancer surgery at the end of June. Pixia has been caring for her post-op and has been doing a great job - Mom was able to join us at the Beach for much of the visit and is recovering well.

Tom,
My two Old English Sheepdogs and our new Jack Russel that we rescued are glad that Ralphie the little horn dog is back on his game. Now that I have three females he will need to really step up to the plate or should I say ladder.
They all have pictures of Ralphie in their kennels. They also want to know since he is feeling better any new doggie porn movies staring the Boston Stud Pup in the works? Oops I mean they have friend that wants to know.

We use the Beneful healthy weight also - also have tried a few other of the Benefuls - everything worked fine with my boxers (including my own Ralphie) - the only one to keep away from is the puppy formula - you never want to share the bed with 3 boxers after they have had that, trust me.
The foot chewing is from allergies- probably a gluten related allergy. And it can also be just a nervous habit. But it sounds like allergies. I would keep him on the food if that's the only one he can handle and address the foot chewing (little socks, bitter apple spray on his feet, etc.)
