ungummed paper tape - can I get it at the Post office? Walmart? Home Depot? Lowes? I don't want to have to drive to town to get it but I have to mail a Registered Mail package and she says it has to be taped with that kind of tape.

You say "ungummed". Do you mean not "self-stick"? I had to have it for a large registered box and the only place I found it was at Staples. Bought a huge roll of it with thread to strength it that should last me for about 100 years. Too bad I can't give you a hunk of it.

oh cool, I called the Post Office - they said I could bring my package in and they would tape it up for me. For the $$ it's going to cost me it's not a bad deal.

You have a nice post office. At mine they said they did not have tape.

Our little p.o. also has that tape and are happy to help. It must depend on the p.o. and its boss.

I mailed a registered package at my post office a while ago and they provided the tape for me. It was a REAL hassle putting it on EVERY seam of the package but that's required for registered mail. Clerks are very nice and helpful at my post office so guess I'm one of the lucky ones!
