Since summer sales are lackluster, I only sell a few items. Was just getting some auctions ready...checked the calendar and noticed 31 August is the Sunday before Labor Day. I'm thinking that won't be a good day to end auctions...what do you think?

According to my "sales reports" from Ebay, Sunday has been a poor day for ending auctions lately for my items no matter the season. Tuesday and Wednesday have been better, so who knows.

I think a lot depends on what you're selling, and who your target buyer-group is. Although sometimes I think it's all magic. Who knows?!
We all hear of people who don't go anywhere or do anything special on Labor Day weekend. Count our family in on that. Life as usual. If you're selling to people who travel a lot, you may want to hold off on that weekend.

I am having a hard time with what day is best to end auctions. One week Sunday is the best and the next week Sunday is a bust and Tuesday is good. Go figure.
One thing about sales either no one is buying or everybody is buying. No rhyme no reason. Must be how the stars line up.
Sales is kinda like fishing. You sit there all day not a bite then for an hour if your lucky there is a feeding fenzy and you catch fish one right after another. Then it ends just as suddenly as it started.
I guess the key is you have to have your line in the water.

Sundays were always my best day for ending sales - I sell antiques in the $50 range and up with no reserve. June and July, the Sunday sales didn't do well - they always had in the past, so I started changing the ending days to Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. A Sunday ending over Labor Day would scare me - not sure what to do with that one.
