The promotion ends August 15.

eBay Bucks is here:

I don't see any reason why you can't combine this rewards program with Mr. Rebates or Big Crumbs, for even more money back.

Fluff,

Only the "invited" (read: annointed) few are allowed to play. Sadly, we were not - but we're now "on the list" for the future rewards efforts.

Sorry, guys. It said invitation-only but eBay plays fast and loose with the truth.

Not that the rebate is any great shakes. I have all of 93 eBay Cents accumulated so far.

I have only accumulated about $5.00. I keep forgetting to log into the thing before I bid on something.

I never do a separate log in, but my account shows all my purchases and the corresponding eBay bucks rewards.

You don't have to log in for eBay Bucks but you do for services like Mr. Rebates.

Beth, you get the PowerShopper award.

I just haven't felt like buying much on eBay this summer. But I guess this would be a good time to stock up on basics.

Really good deals on magazines from the 1800s! Low prices lately and few buyers. I'm getting some great deals and now have to fine the time to start listing more!

I never got the invite - all I got was a lousy top secret phone number - but I think it was sent to me as a buyer and not as a seller. Had to enter a code in My Ebay to access the support but haven't tried the phone number yet.

Oh - almost forgot - I got an EBay Stores notebook (probably left over from Live) too.

eBay Bucks ends today at midnight PDT. I splurged and bought something for $1800, not realizing that the "reward" goes to 4% over $1000. So I'm at $76.30, Beth...it's a neck-and-neck race to the finish line!

I believe my buyer ID got the invitation to join in this promotion because my spending in the previous 12 month period was in the four-figure range, not because I'm particularly special.

You win. I peaked at $43 and slap my hand everytime I reach to buy another old magazine. I have millions of pages waiting to be listed now. Do I really need a 17th copy of the 1933 Municipal index????

I do think I will buy something non-business related with my bucks, tho.

Beth. I'm curious how to you organize and file that many ads without them ending up curled or wrinkled.

I had a few magazines I was thinking about cutting up but I wasn't sure how to organize and store the pages. Flat? Upright in a file cabinet in file folders?

For large ads:
Put the ad in a poly bag, add a light cardboard stiffner. Number the ad using a unique numbering system. If you ever go to a used bookstore, it is similar to how they show the comics.

I started out storing them by category but now find it easier to store them by source.

So all the Country Life magazine ads together starting with November 1901 (the first issue) and proceeding to 1935. This makes it easier to add to an existing stack of ads should I come across an extra issue of the November 1909 Country Life.

For small ads (6" x 9" I store flat in a poly bag; storing an entire month together in one poly and then placing 6 months into a larger poly. I have special desktop units that are like mail sorters. I used them for American City, Century, Harper's, etc.

Sometimes I don't take the ads out of the bound volumes until sold. I just make a note that the ad is in verso (2). That means I have 2 copies in the book, ready to be removed.

Wow. I knew it was probably complicated but knew that if I was going to undertake the project that organization would probably be the key.

I imagine postcard sellers have to do something similar.

Thanks for the insight. Amy
