It seems like just about every email I receive lately signs off with "Blessings" instead of "sincerely yours" or "regards" or even "peace". Where is this coming from?

Don't get me wrong, I can use all the blessings anyone wants to send my way, but what's up with this? I remember when I was a kid, my dad (the Episcopal priest) got letters signed "blessings" from other clergy and the bishop. Is this a sign of desperate times or some kind of fad I missed out on?

Hi,
"Blessings" is a common sign off among the "New Age" community. I have been coming across it for years, as many of my customers are crystal healers.

I imagine it has just expanded into more general use.

Regards,
Susan

Two of the postal clerks at my post office have been saying "Have a blessed day" for the past few months after I've completed my transaction.
