I feel like my worst paypal nightmare has not happen yet.
The only real problem I've had was an expense reel to reel that the buyer said didn't work but when I got it back - it worked fine. I felt I shouldn't have to eat the original shipping. Paypal disagreed!!!
My revenge was that I resold it for more the second time.

What is the alternative?
It would be nice if they all send us money orders like the good old days.

My, story was that I purchased laptop from someone on e bay, I payed $500 and the person send me a unit that looked like it was picked up from the bulk did not work piece of junk,
I complaint to pay pal and they told me to send it back after sending it back pay pal got back to stating Sorry we could not retrieve the funds from the seller he has no funds in the account, my point was why did pay pal had me send the lap top spend another $30 in shipping if they knew they could not get the funds from this guy.

Paypal should have held back 500 dollars from his account.
But see he may not have 500 dollars in his account at that time, but it does not mean he wont have it in the near future.
Is he still selling on Ebay?If so ,is he still accepting Paypal?
When future payments come into his account,Paypal will send you those payments (net of Paypal fee of course),also if he has other claims before you, then those claims will get the $$ first.
Just keep an eye on his Ebay selling.
