One of the charming buyers eBay loves so much recently bought an expensive bracelet from me and immediately did a credit card chargeback.

PayPal seized the funds, as is their wont, and has now handed down their decision:

Dear fluffythewondercat,

Thank you for providing information about the recent bank reversal. We have
reviewed the information and determined that you will not be held liable
for this reversal because you followed the guidelines of the seller
protection policy.

Any funds that may have been temporarily held are now available in your
account.

Woo-hoo! It's not the money, it's the VICTORY over the SCUM!

I would really like to post her id here so the rest of you can put her on your BBL too but sorry, can't do it.

So glad you won Fluffy. I lost 2 chargebacks last week because we don't have mailing confirmation in Canada, even though one buyer left feedback, and the other gave an incomplete address, so I have lost. Sometimes I feel I just can't win. I have had no less than 3 buyers in the last week who thought they were buying the item pictured instead of the pattern for it, and even eBay agrees that I could do nothing more to explain that it is for the pattern only.

Fluffy - I had the same thing happen with a buyer in the UK. Hopefully, I'll get my money back since I, too, followed the guidelines. I'm not getting my hopes up, though.

Whitman said she and McCain share a philosophy of scaling back the role of government. a point of view partly shaped by her EBay experience. "The EBay model is very Republican in its essence -- it's about making a small number of rules and getting out of the way while not overtaxing the community," she said.

Sorry you guys are having trouble. I did not expect to win this -- we all know how capricious PayPal is, and not in a good way.

Fluffy: Does your buyer also sell on eBay? Could you post a link to one of her auctions??

What, so someone can send her email and get her riled up again?

I'm a slow learner but I do eventually get there.

No, fluffy. I just thought that would be a fairly subtle way to get that buyer's user name so we could block her. Sorry to disturb you.

Why so paranoid, fluff?

Someone once sent a buyer an email directing them to the forum, not a nice thing to do to a fellow eBayer. The buyer went ballistic after she/he read the comments.

I remember that - I caught some of buyer's wrath for being unsympathetic regarding her medical problems. Fluff is wise not to post the user id IMHO
