I have a buyer from Canada trying to bid on one of my store items on eBay.com, and she says that it is asking her to pay to complete the transaction. She wants to pay in Canadian dollars, so I have to send an invoice. Is there a way around this, it hasn't happened before to me.
I thought it was interesting that when I went to the auction to see if I could find anything pertaining to it, and I clicked on the instructions for a "Buy it Now", and this is the message.

"To purchase an item with Buy It Now:
Decide whether you're willing to buy the item for the Buy It Now price. Please remember, shipping and handling charges are not included in the Buy It Now price. You may need to contact the seller to determine the total price of the item. If the listing is a Pay Now and Buy It Now item, the seller requires immediate payment, so the shipping cost and other charges will be displayed in the listing description.

Click the Buy It Now button at the bottom of the item page and enter your User ID and password.

You'll see a Buy It Now confirmation message. From there, you can choose among the offered payment methods (PayPal, personal check, money order, and so on)."

eBay are a bit late removing their own "check or money order" options. It took me a couple of weeks to get rid of all mine.

Amber, check to see if you have immediate payment selected on the listing.

You can do this by going to the listing and clicking to revise it. Scroll down to the PayPal section and see if the box for Require Immediate payment is selected.

As for the notice you are seeing, that message usually only shows if the listing has calculated shipping and the buyer is not logged into ebay. If you or the buyer are logged in, ebay will have the zipcode and actual shipping costs should show.

LtRay: yes, I did check, and it doesn't have immediate shipping. The shipping cost does show, but the buyer want the invoice in Canadian dollars (Paypal exchange rate is not very good), and so she can't do an immediate payment because it would be in US dollars. I am tempted to cancel and relist the auction and see if that works.

hi Amber, I forgot that you were in Canada.

Perhaps you should end it early and list it on ebay.ca. Would that work for you?

Yes, it worked to relist. It must have been a glitch. I can't relist on ebay.ca for a store item because my store is on ebay.com. If I try to list a store item on the canadian site, I would get charged the monthly fee again. The only way I could move my store over, is to completely delete it, and then list each item one-by-on again. I've been selling for almost 10 years on the US site, that was the only site back then.

Can you relist as an auction on Ebay Canada as a fixed price item and ask her to buy it?
But what do you care if she has already committed to buying and you can send her a Paypal invoice in Canadian currency?

She hadn't bid on it. She just said she wanted to. I relisted it in my store, and it worked fine. If I relist on eBay Canada, it cost more for listing fee, and it was not an expensive item.

She can always send you a postal order since you are both in Canada.
Ebay would never know.
