I'm trying to re-list an auction where I'm selling 5 of the same items and I only want it to run for 7 days NOT 30 days.
Ebay keeps listing it for 30 days and I can't change it.
Also when I was trying to revise the listing it didn't give me a choice of how long I want it to run it just automatically lists it for 30 days. I don't want 30 days because you don't get into the search, it goes on the back of search, I don't want to park my item on ebay I want to have it seen and maybe sell it. lol
And I clicked on (as I was revising my item)
Choose how you'd like to sell your item Add or remove options | Get help
Private listing
Allow buyers to remain anonymous to other eBay users
Lots
Sell multiple items together to the same buyer as a "lot"
Donate percentage of sale
Give a percentage of the final sale price to a non-profit organization
Where it says, Donate percentage of sale the box was automatically checked. I do not want to donate so I unchecked the box but if I didn't click on this I never would have known that I was donating a percentage of my sale.....what's up with this?

I was having trouble relisting or revise a few weeks back so I called CS.
My problem was solved by the "add/remove options" at the top of the listing box. You have to look for this but it is there. Maybe that would help you as well.
You know you really have to watch everything very closely as somethings get automatically checked and you don't even know it. I had that problem with watermarking in Vendio. Took me a while to figure out what happen

I have accidentally used the 7 day period when I intended to use 30 days. I have been able to revise during the first several hours after launch, but cannot change it after that. I think ebay made a change last year (in order to combat the folks who were revising ending time to stay at the top of search) to disable revisions of duration. Probably the best thing to do is to end the listing and launch a whole new one (don't relist through eBay or you probably will run into the same problem). If you use Vendio, you should be able to launch a copy of the ended listing and change the duration.

Yes I think I will need to relist it from my program instead of relisting it through ebay.
I am also puzzled as to why ebay takes it upon themselves to check the box for donations, if I didn't open that link I never would have known I was donating.
I just listed my auction and wanted to revise it to show only 7 days instead of 30 days and it just would not let me.
I think 30 days is good if you don't have a store and you just want to park, but if you have a store your better off putting your items in your store because the store comes up in search.

toni...what happens if you have an item/listing that has SEVERAL photos? Doesn't relisting through eBay, create the added fees for each photo. If you relist through - say VENDIO - it would be the same as originally listing (photos free).

I re list through ebay so if the item sells I don't pay re-listing fee and all my pics are on another server so I don't pay ebay for storing my pics.
Usually i'm only re listing auctions that have only one item but this was the first time I tried to re list having 5 of the same items and I don't know why I can't list the 5 items with a BIN for only a 7day listing. Ebay doesn't give me the option of choosing how many days it just lists it for 30 days and I can't change it when I'm re listing with ebay.
And it had the box checked for me to donate a percent of the sale which I never checked.

I alter the BIN duration all the time when relisting through eBay. I don't think you can do it in bulk. When you're relisting through eBay, check to relist this item, then click on "edit listing" (hard to find, small print, half way down page). Then you can edit all sorts of things, including duration. I think my BIN 30-day listings have better visibility than my store items in almost every circumstance. I can't see the advantage in having them end sooner if you're going to park them in your store afterwards.

Toni - FYI no relist credits for FP items anymore. (effective sometime in October I think). I used to relist items as FP by request for people who emailed that they had missed an auction. It just dawned on me that if I continue to do that, I won't get the rl credit and I will have to pay higher FVF. I just listed one as an auction with BIN - hopefully that will still qualify.

"Revision Limitations
The information that you can revise in your listing depends on the time left before the listing ends and whether you have received any bids or sales.YOU CANNOT CHANGE THE LISTING FORMAT (for example, you cannot change from an online auction listing to a Fixed Price listing). In addition, you are not permitted to extend the duration of a listing if more than two hours have passed since you submitted the listing.
Note: Removing a bid does not enable you to revise the listing."

I just revised an item to shorten it after 3 days running and I was able to do it. However when I tried to change it back to the original 7 days - I couldn't. It was an auction not a fixed price.
I also saw where the donate box was check on mine when I tried to change it back to 7 days. I'm all for giving to charity but I think ebay should give with their money not ours????
Toni - do you think this is a glitch or something?

I think that when you originally list an item for a 30 day listing when you go to relist it your only able to relist it for the original 30 day that you did the first time. Ebay did not give me a choice to change the 30 days to 7 days when I was relisting.
Maybe this is something new?

This would be a format change.
No can do.

Yes, you can change format when relisting from My eBay, but not in bulk. It's under Review Your Listing> Listing Details> Edit Listing> Choose how you'd like to sell your item. There are tabs for Online Auction,Fixed Price and Store inventory. You can change the duration from 30 days to 7 here, too.
