Without seeing them in person, I would say they are from the 1940's. I am a vintage furniture dealer, but specialize in modern furniture from the mid century.

I have seen similar chairs at antique shops from $65 to $300 each, depending on condition, style, and what shop they are in. You can find them in a junk shop for real low, and then in a fine antique store for more. The real question is how much they actually sell them for, not what they are asking.

It is all going to depend on the region you live and the popularity of style to determine a price. It is all based on what someone will pay you for them.

Thanks for your help. They are not the kind of stuff I normaly sell. I am going to a big flea market tomorrow and thought I would take them along.

I will ask $200.00 for the pair and see what happens. I picked them up for $5.00 so I can come down if I need to. LOL.

Love those chairs! Very nice. Let us know how much you get for them. Will you sell the two together, or, if someone just wants one, you'll let him have it?

I agree with Shag, probably 40s or 50s. They look well made. Have you looked for a manufacture's name on the bottom slats?

Technically they are bent cane.

I have looked them over good and do not see a name. I think I will sell them as a pair.

I would say 40's or 50's as well. Rattan was really hot then and can be today as well.

Question - what is the difference in wicker, rattan and cane? I'm pretty sure wicker is just smaller reeds (if that's the word)
