This 10" tall vase is white frosted glass with red flowers/birds design. The red designs are highlighted in gold. The pontil is rough. Anyone have any thoughts about it? I couldn't find anything like it but wondered if it was worth listing. I think it's really pretty. It belonged to the sister of a friend of mine and I think it probably dates from the 1940's or '50's. Thanks, in advance, for opinions.

Is it ruby flashed or is the glass ruby? If it's ruby then you may want that in your title and maybe even list in that category.
Hopefully Max will come along - he knows glass pretty good.

Thanks, all. I THINK it's probably ruby flashed but it's hard to tell. Is there a definitive way to make this distinction?

See the jagged edge on the bottom base, try scratching and see if a little peels off. It does look like flash to me too.

Thanks...there are a few tinly little chips showing clear glass underneath so guess that means it's flashy ruby. Appreciate the help.

Just my opinion,if someone is decorating in a forties motif this is a perfect accessory at the right price. It is flashed, no doubt in my mind.I'd list it.

Thanks, all, for the thoughts and advice. I'll list it Sunday and see how it does. Hopefully, the "right" person will be out there looking for the perfect accessory!
