Is there a special name for this type of ring? There are 3 "levels"...I thought it might be intaglio but think that's where the carving is recessed. Any help/info is appreciated. Thanks!

I was thinking cameo too but wondering if the 3-tiers are named something different.

Cameo or also known as relief.

Thanks all...appreciate it! That's what I was thinking too but wasn't sure since it has 3 levels.

It might be called "Itaglio". Not sure but my uncle had one similar and that's what he called it.

My initial thought was also intaglio but think that's where the carving is incised and into the stone...and not in raised tiers.

Cameo or signet ring but not intaglio.

IN-taglio, carved INto the base material.

Cameo/relief- stands out from the material it was carved from.
