Ever since the requirement of Paypal on ebay I have had a deluge of questions from buyers asking if we would accept a check or MO. Some have been irate that they can not purchase from us unless they sign up for a paypal account. They absoutely refuse to get a Paypal account. Ebay has effectively eliminated many of my customers with this latest money grab. Anyone else experiencing the same??

Yes, I had many buyers email asking or even telling me they will be sending a money order. I let them know the name and where to send the money order.

If they don't want to sign up with paypal that's ok, they can still pay with MO. And if someone wants something bad enough they will email you asking to pay with MO.

While making a hotel reservation recently, I had a chatty women who has a large collection of some sort that was mostly bought from ebay sellers. She only buys and has 1000 transactions with no previous negatives. She said that paypal was holding her payment for five to seven days until both parties were satisfied with the transaction. I wasn’t aware that paypal was holding payment, I would think that would really lower shipping time stars. Anyway, the up shot is that she has moved to other venues because she was fed up with paypal policies. Previously she had paid mostly with checks. So here is someone who was willing to get a paypal account and still finds it cumbersome.

There are lots of buyers leaving ebay beause they don't want to use paypal, as expected. ebay makes money off every paypal transaction, so don't expect a policy change.

It's simple.

Getcherself a booth at Bonanzle. Send your buyers there. They can pay anywhichway they want.

Maybe the lady was paying by echeck, which seems to take so much time by Paypal.

Like someone stated in another post, ebay could not have pick a worst time for the new paperless rule. Even buyers that have always used their credit card with paypal - don't want to do it now. They want to pay cash or check in this economy.
