What is the largest we can have listing on Vendio for pictures. Is it 400 or 500 pixels?
TIA

I think the maximum size is determined by the total KB used and not the dimensions. The better the resolution, the more KB used. I size my ebay pictures at roughly 700x450 - you want to make sure that the image won't require scrolling when viewed on an ebay page (I think 800 is the maximum width).

niel35,

What others said is correct, it's the size of the file (500K) that we put the limit on, but that can't be figured solely by the pixels or resolution since it will vary from scanner to scanner and camera to camera.

Since your running Windows XP, I would just take the biggest clearest images you can without worrying about the file size and then use the built in Windows XP uploading tool with your Vendio image hosting to upload them in bulk and resize them down in the process.

You can configure your Windows XP uploading tool to work with Vendio from here: http://www.vendio.com/my/client/publisher.html

I usually pick the option to resize the images and use the 'Large' image option when doing so. That generally can take a 2M image and cut it down to around 250-350k, which is ideal so the loading time for users on slow internet connections isn't bad.

Regards,
Chris

OK, thanks. Very confusing for me. I have a 10yr old Olympus and first I upload to Camedia and then work on the photo from there and save it. Then I go into Vendio and "Upload Listings" and put them in the various files to use in my listings. It has worked up until now but wasn't sure if I was sizing them too big.

Your pics are probably just barely too big given the equipment your using. It's been a long time since I used Cammedia, but I think it also has some sort of export and resize option built into it.

That Windows XP tool I posted about above is really great though if you can't get Cammedia to resize them. You can also adjust the camera's 'quality' setting if they are way too big, but you usually get a better end product taking large pictures and making them a little smaller than taking small pictures to begin with.

Chris - I can adjust the size easily in Camedia. No problem. Just didn't want them to be too big. I'll keep doing what I have been doing. Maybe you could check my auctions and see what you think. thanks for your help
