I'm planning a trip to CA next month as my daughter is having my first grandchild. I've been looking at airline flights all afternoon. Has anyone heard of an outfit called SmartFares? They are like Expedia but looks like their flights are much cheaper. TIA

Do they tell you in advance which airline you will be flying on?

Never mind. I found some reviews on them and they were not good. Back to expedia

I first go to the expedia, price line ect sites and check for flights first. Once I find flights, then I go directly to the airline websites and in every single case, I found flights to be cheaper directly from the airlines using the exact same travel information.

Check out Kayak.com

http://www.kayak.com/

They check prices on a bunch of different sites including the actual airlines and give you a bunch of options to use for your search.

Check out Southwest Airlines. They usually have cheap fares- I don't think Expedia includes them

thanks all. I researched all afternoon and about 10PM finally made a reservation thru Expedia. Hope to have lunch with Adele while I'm out in CA. I'm buying!

Expedia charges a $7 service fee, so I just get the flight times and prices and go right to the airline website.
