This is just so amazing, and it happened so fast I haven't had a chance to tell you about it before now.

Sarah Davis, eBay seller FASHIONPHILE (and top purveyor of pre-owned designer bags) will be featured on E! Entertainment's "Live from the Red Carpet" show Sunday February 22. She'll be talking about vintage designer bags, commenting on star-carried bags from last year and at some point in the show E! will announce a FASHIONPHILE Vintage Bag Giveaway.

It's all so exciting because the appearance has only just come together in the last couple of days. I know Sarah from PeSA. Understandably, like anyone who will be on TV before millions of people on the red carpet, she's having "What to wear?" flutters. I think she's handling it remarkably well. I'd be having a nervous breakdown about right now.

I think Sarah is a great success story. This shows that it's still possible to succeed with a start on eBay, if you widen your reach to multiple channels and keep building your business.

I'll be DVRing the show and if you should be watching, keep an eye out for Sarah!

Interesting. Good for her! Tell Sarah that she has TRULY spelled wrong ("truely" on her "me" page.

Yeah, I'll mention that to Sarah once the craziness abates.

I'm so out of it pop-culture-wise that I didn't even realize E! Entertainment is a cable channel. We don't get cable.

Why would anyone want to buy a designer bag in the first place?

I always found it ironic that people buy designer anything... especially when their logo is so prevalant on whatever the item is. Why would someone pay $25 for a t-shirt with a giant Nike swoosh on it? Shouldn't Nike just give it away? My favorite are all of the new urban designers like Marc Ecko. Apparently you can put a red rhino logo on the entire garment. Now he is even putting his name on womens hand bags. Go figure.

it's the same reason people wear big gold chains or big diamond rings/earrings.

or drive Escalade's or BMW X5's...

or get implants, or go to tanning beds. etc/.etc

either:
1. it's something they are genuinely interested in
or
2. to show others what their status in society is

Ina Steiner's interview with Sarah:

Worth reading even if you're not into designer bags or Oscar excitement -- some good advice on SEO here.
