Yeah like that's going to happen. I have a feeling that the price would only go down - never up.

It's not as far fetched as you think. You can have automatic price adjustment on amazon. To that extent I have an ebay account where the prices are modified based on what others are selling things for.

I don't need my prices adjusted down to 99 cents to compete with somebody who looses money on E-Bay with every item they post. I want the price I post for or it's a no sale. I'm not starving yet.

You set your minimum price. It will not go to 99 cents unless you set that as your minimum.
That said, there is still no way I would let eBay (or their provider) play with my auctions this way. With their best match
parameters, I can only begin to imagine (shudder, shudder) what kind of items they would come with that they think are the same items as my listings!
