Actually, I don't ship surface mail Internationally any more, but there wasn't room in the subject line!
My brother in Wales UK mailed us a Christmas package at the beginning of Sept. last year and it never arrived here to Canada. I felt really bad because they struggle financially, but make a lot of effort to send us something very meaningful. They have given up asking us if it has arrived.
Well, today, guess what? We get a Christmas package from Wales, almost 7 months after it was mailed!
I will stick to my "airmail only" for Internationaly shipping.

I found out when mailing Priority Flat rate to my daughter in Kazakhstan that it can take 7 weeks. Express Mail package gets there in 7-10 days and it is not that much more expensive (up to about 8 lbs). They hand deliver the Express Mail and call her when they feel like it for the Priority Mail.

hwahwa: In Canada we have packages go surface mail or airmail, that is what it is called here. Surface mail still goes by air, but it sits and waits until there is room on a plane, whereas airmail space is set aside for airmail. I guess even mail that used to go by ship couldn't really be called surface mail, these days, that would be a very expensive way to send it.
