Very interesting. This sure is not going to be helpful to the seller.
Here is a potential problem. If the seller has reasonable return policy posted, there is an implicit contract between buyer and seller. If the policy terms are ignored by eBay, and a refund is issued, eBay has interfered in the relationship.
Has anyone been notified of a policy change at eBay? There has to be a major change in eBay policy language to enable eBay to interfere in the dealings of seller and buyer.
It would seem to me that the day of eBay calling itself "only a venue" is coming to a close. Be prepared for the policy changes.

Further, I forgot to add that it is all the more important that everyone has a reasonable return/refund policy posted in their descriptions.
The return/refund policy should end with the phrase - "The placement of an order will indicate your acceptance of these terms."

Ebay has gone off the deep end on this one!!
Ebay called me the other day singing their own praises of how this would be so great for the buyers and the sellers.
Bill - you as a seller are no longer allowed to set your own policies. I don't think you have really been able to since the change in FB last year. That was the beginning of the end IMHO

ladyjewels2000 - I am so, so tired of ebay. When someone asks me where I sell online, I always mention that I sell from my own web store, nothing else.
At one time, I had a presence on ebay, StampWants, DelCampe, and the Vendio store. It was all a big mistake, and a learning experience.
The StampWants store will be closed within a few days, and the ebay store is slowly being phased out (down to 23 items). I am going to turn the eBay store back to a basic store for awhile longer. The DelCampe store will remain unti the end of the year, because I paid for a years membership.
It is not that I don't have the inventory to sell in these locations. I just do not buy into this multichannel selling baloney any longer. I am tired of having all those hands in my pocket, sharing my profits, at my expense.
Nor, do I need anyone interfering with my customers. The true problem is that eBay now considers anyone that purcahses an item at eBay as their customers, not mine or even "our" customers.

Is eBay crossing a legal line? That's what I'd like to know. Can their attorneys possibly have covered all their basis for all the states?

After many months away, I was thinking about listing a few things on Ebay. Now I'm not so sure.

Well, one buyer said the seller would not say when he will ship his item.
Now in the real world of retailing, this is absurd, not saying when you will ship an item after payment is received!
So Ebay suspends this seller.
This is a wake up call for all sellers,if you dont have the good on hands, dont sell on Ebay!
OR if you are using dropshipper, better know damn well your dropshipper has the stock!
