Can't remember if I have put this on before but here goes.
I have a vase or jardiniere by J Massier Vallauris AM. 1850 - 1916.
It has 12 applied small birds and 6 smaller vases. Measures 19" long and 8" wide.
It is art nouveau from what I researched.
anybody see it before or know anything about it.
TIA

Fabulous find, Niel! I've never seen anything like it. Have you checked on the internet (google or such) for a majolica site that could give you some clues? ~Adele

thanks Adele - yes have spent all morning researching on Google and emailed Shantique Gallery who emailed me back with some information. It is actually called a "centerpiece". She said it is in a catalog of a show in 2000. I'll keep looking.

Gorgeous piece! SIX vases, yummy. I adore figural majolica. It's one of the very few things I still allow myself to collect.
Will you be listing it soon? How's the condition?

That is a beautiful piece. It should bring ebay a nice FVF of about $240.00, if listed through the new promotion.

Neil, I have collected majolica for 25+ years and bought and sold an awful lot of it as well. Your piece is moue bueno (sp) The RL dealer is so right about price.Pieces like
yours should be all of that amount or more.On top of everything the vases are pink! STUNNING! Ordinary majolica is slow right now VERY SLOW but yours is not an ordinary piece. If I had found it it would be in the center of my dining room table! SWELL piece.. congrats.

Thanks bjboswell. It is muy bueno. Its been packed up in my garage for years and finally brought it out. I had no idea what it was but had a "feeling" about it so bought it and hung onto it. I paid very little for it at the antique show. One of the birds has a small chip under the bill but the rest is fine. Its quite delicate but finally turned it over to see the mark and researched from there.

That was just an approximation I use for selling with fixed price fees. I usually figure 20% to ebay and PayPal.
I believe eBay FVF + Paypal would be less for an auction.
-Assuming this would be auction -
Equal to or Over $1000.01
8.75% of the initial $25.00 ($2.19), plus 3.50% of the initial $25.01 - $1,000.00 ($34.12), plus 1.50% of the remaining closing value balance($1000.01 - closing value)
For $2000.00 ebay would get $51.30 + Paypal fees of $58.30.
There would also be a $4.00 fee for using a reserve over $500.00
This would bring the cost to about $113.30 in fees if auctioned at $2000.00.
Oh, I did not compute the PayPal fees on payment for shipping the item. That would be extra.

Would you use a reserve? If so, can you do a reserve through the special promotion? You would think so, but this is ebay - you never know.
Have you considered Vendio fees?

No it excludes reserves so will have to reconsider. B'tards - always a catch. I paid so little for it that any price is a good profit

Niel, I would start it at whatever price you would have used as reserve. We are coming into a very slow season to be selling the good stuff on eBay. Everyone is headed outside for summer fun and few are surfing the web.
Perhaps there is a better venue or collectors board for such an nice piece?
