I would like to find a company where I can purchase insurance for international shipments. I will be using USPS First Class International which does not allow the purchase of insurance. Does anyone know of a company where I can just purchase th einsurance and not the shipping fee ?

You can go through Auctiva. They sell insurance only - including first class international. It only works for eBay items as far as I know. The insurance also covers the shipping charges and is significantly cheaper than USPS. There is an option to email the buyer that says..."an insurance policy has been purchased for......." I've been using it over a year without problem, but I have not had to file a claim either.

The problem with insuring packages going overseas is the clumsy way of filing claims.
With U-Pic and DSI,your bidder has to sign the form and fax them back and sometimes they dont want to be bothered as intl calls cost money or they dont have a fax machine.
