I have purchased a ?Louis Vuitton change/key purse. It is in a box with serial #, which is also inside the purse. The logo on the inside matches ones I see on eBay, but I don't want to list it as a Louis Vuitton if it's not. Any suggestions?

Yes, I have done that, and it is VERY confusing. Some say "authentic", some say replica, so it is very hard to know how to describe it.

If it is a replica I don't think you can list it on ebay no matter how you describe it. In fact, if you can't prove authenticity, I don't think you can list it at all.

You are probably right neglus, and there is no way I can prove authenticity. Something very strange happens when I try to check out "louis vuitton purses" on eBay search, nothing comes up. However, if I put "louis purses" in the search bar, loads of Louis Vuitton purses, with that in the title, come up.

Sounds like eBay has blocked all the LV auctions. But not the Louis ones. I might be tempted to list it as a Louis copy don't use the V word. Maybe the bidding will pick up the fact that its an original or not. Set the opening bid at 10x what you paid for it and see what happens. You get a warning before eBay suspends you its in the rules!

Thank you for the links. Mine does look authentic, but I have no way to guarantee that. I am wondering about just listing it as a change purse. What does anyone think about doing that, and just picturing the purse with the name on it? Is that also against eBay rules?

To get it authenticated, contact Sarah at:

http://fashionphile.com

Tell 'em Fluff sent ya.

Frankly I wouldn't even bother putting it on eBay. Fashionphile may make an offer if it's authentic, so why pay eBay fees only to have your auction disadvantaged?

Thanks fluffy, I'll check it out, there seems to be paranoia around the name.
