any help is appreciated becasue i am ready to give up.
i don't have these issues on ebay, for God's sake.
i can't preview my auction, and obviously, it didn't even save my html on youtube video much to my distress. why?
shipping.
I keep getting error messages, and i don't even understand what the problem is from reading the messages.
okay, i changed from flat rate to calculated just to get this damn thing to shut up. i have three DVD, i use flat rate never a problem at ebay my god, i am very very generous about combining shipping with no added charges.
but it is telling me i need dimensions. okay, i put in dimensions. that does not work.
i created an auction and yet to see it.
now today, i see my youtube embedded is gone. THESE ARE MY UPLOADS.
what is the trick with this shipping?
the form, to me, is very antagonistic. you can't preview without feeding this shipping monster.
i want to look at my work, then deal with shipping details.
but even so, i spent so much time two days ago creating shippign profiles I figured would be all in order all squared away when i wrote my auction, i'd have my ducks in a row.
i can't get past this shippign issue.
these forms: it is obviously they are married to them and are loathe to change them. yet, they offer no flexibility for variations in auctions. and yes, even with rules on shipping by ebay, there are still variations auction to auction. their error messages I don't understand. i put in dimensions. what now?
it wouldn't be so bad if you could get it on to ebay and then revise once there. i have done auction forms on auctiva, ioffer, ebay (a ton) and even amazon, and tho they have the shipping rules built in, i have never experienced this rigid, gestapo shipping box. my God, it is not a crime to leave some flexilbity.
meanwhile, all that work was wasted, i want to pull my hair out and my html is gone.
Any of you who have had auctions imported: perhaps you find that is the problem?
i tried starting with a fresh form. PROBLEM STILL. i only copied and pasted the text.
this is what will drive me away.
i even asked if i could pay for image hosting believe me better to pay and get our auctions up in peace than endure this. i do not have the time. i have to put up the rest of my stained glass supplies I do not use anymore (god help you if you list something that will NOT go into a store).
is there a simple ebay form one can use?
thanks,
gmt

If you change from fixed shipping to calculated shipping - you must change it in 2 places on the listing form. Look for the blue box and make sure that you have calculated there as well.
From what I understand - as a former Auctiva user - your form maybe different but this is the way it works for us "old timers"
There are a few problems with how you have this item setup unfortunately.
"I NEVER WILL SHIP THREE DVD FOR THREE BUCKS"
1. The reason your fixed rate shipping wasn't working was because eBay *does* have a limit on how much you can charge for flat rate shipping when you list in this category. As Diana mentioned in our email yesterday this is not an Vendio limitation, rather an eBay rule as seen here:
(this is the eBay.com listing form for this category)
2. Now that you switched to calculated shipping there are two things you need to address Vs what you had originally setup for your fixed shipping:
2A. Dimensions. You will need to enter dimensions for calculated shipping to work properly. Enter the dimensions and then the error message about the dimensions will go away.
2B. Selected carrier. Now that you have switched from fixed to calcualted you will need to pick either USPS or UPS as both your domestic and international carriers. While you can list 'common carrier' for fixed rate shipping, eBay does not allow the 'common carrier' to be used for calculated shipping costs.
To fix that, go to the shipping profile section, click to customize the settings and then change the carrier to either USPS or UPS, and save the change.
With the above two changes (dimensions and carrier) you could then post your item without running into an error message from eBay.
If you'd like, just tell us what the weight, dimensions and carrier should be and we'll go in and set it up for you so you can then review how it should appear if you run into any trouble doing it yourself.
Regards,
Chris
