I just received a letter from AMEX,it is addressed to my company-
It said instead of charging me 1% for each transaction, now it is a flat fee of 7.95 a month up to $5000 worth of transactions.
Now,if we can talk our customers into paying us with their AMEX card we will get to keep more of what we sell.

That's what my business pays each month and it's a bargain if a lot of people use it. Unfortunately, not many people use AMEX. It's no bargain if no one uses it. We're going to cancel our account with AMEX.

Not a bad deal... IF you can get enough AMEX transactions... you'd have to do at least $800 in AMEX charges each month to make it worthwhile... I'm not sure I'd ever see almost 10K in AMEX charges throughout the course of a year...

This is a really great deal if your primary sales are to businesses. My B to B B&M company had 70% of all credit card charges to Amex - apparently the favored card to file expense reports against. I can't see this benefiting business to consumer sellers.
