I've often wondered why eBay doesnt split into two venues...one for the mass market bargains and one for the collectibles and individual items. Does anyone know why??? It would seem a way to keep everyone happy....

Retailers usually have a list of wholesalers/distributors and factories where they can place orders, their problem is not where they can find things to sell, their problem is SELLING them.

Splitting into two venues makes no sense. The thing is what would it really change? It makes it more difficult for customers to find what they want, it makes it more expensive to ebay to have to pay to create a new venue that nobody has heard of. I don't see any benefit to doing this.

I agree and have wondered why not for years.
Antiques & collectibles should be it's own venue much like Ebay Motors.
I think the collectors would love it too. It would make it easier to shop not harder.

ebabetreasures - I agree, too. Hey, maybe we are related afterall.
I'd almost forgotten about eBay Express. Seems eBay hasn't quite learned its lesson from that. I think most people shop on eBay to get things they can't get where they live. Antiques, collectibles, etc. I get the items I collect far cheaper by buying them on eBay and I RARELY buy anything new on eBay. The new clothes that I have bought on eBay usually don't fit me right so I don't bother anymore.
