I'm bunched up with an unsolicited Best Offer via ASQ. I initially declined the offer - $4 less than my asking price. The next time I listed it, I received a screaming ASQ "just sell it to me, I'm the lone survivor of this town and you won't sell it elsewhere". I responded that I'd certainly keep that in mind and won't be purchasing or listing any more postcards from that community, knowing that the sole purchaser is unwilling to meet my opening price. eCollectors should be careful of the bridges they burn. Chances are that this tiny town comes up in eBay searches less than 20 times/year. Chances are fairly good that my source for the postcard has more from the same community.

Just had a mean thought. How about listing it again, with a picture of it burning. Captioned Going, Going, Gone. And blocking the bidder.

love it! that's not a bad idea for other things either. maybe a burn your item being listed protest might get some attention to ebay's shinanigans.

I heard a story that at a live auction full of Humbles - no one would start the bidding so the auctioneer started smashing the Humbles. That must have been a sight, but he got the bidding started.
Make a copy of it and burn that if you don't want to burn the orginial.

Humbles are the mystical creatures known to frequent auction houses... they kiss each auction lot and are believed to bring good luck. They get their name from what they do. Their only satisfaction is being able to kiss the item goodbye, hence "Humbles".
