I just did a eBay search and on the left there was a block that showed the top 4 eBay stores with matching items now its gone?? There is now a ADVERTISEMENT for friggin at&t. Some please tell me I have turned something off.

I can still see the stores box. Could you be seeing something that is category specific? Perhaps not much inventory in stores?

Gone for me as well. I get a Verizon ad. Searched both in category specific and all of eBay. Plenty of matches in stores for my key words.

I have it today but didn't last week. Here's what I get when I type keyword "postcard" (no category):
Pixi and I are both there! Let those sales come rollin' in (HA!) You get there by having the most items listed in CORE (FP & auction) matching the searched words. Has nothing to do with number in Store.
