I just bought something on ebay and received this method of leaving feedback. So how does this translate into DSRs and feedback comments???

Seems to be a waste of bidder time. I did the survey and it did nothing to the sellers FB. Only when I followed the link to leaving FB the standard way did it update info.

For sure there are going to be buyers who get the number the wrong way around, I am sure some buyers have done that with my DSR's. After leaving GLOWING feedback, they have given me 1&2's.
There will be those who rate 1-10 as outstanding to awful, instead of the other way around.

I think it is one of their 'tests' to try new ways to confuse buyers..LOL. No, it is an actual trial of a proposed possible change.

Hmmmm. Do you think it is better for ebay to use the current DSR system, a scale of 1 to 10, or a 1 to 3 (unsatisfied, no opinion, satisfied)?
When I was done completing this survey, I was given an option to leave feedback the old way. I chose not to, but then went to look to see how the new system I used affected the seller. It left no feedback, and obviously couldn't address DSRs.
Here is what I think about the changes at Ebay. They are created by people simply trying to keep their jobs. It makes them look busy no matter how stupid the idea is and who it affects.

Yes I can see how the 1 to 10 can be a problem.
Amber I never thought about the buyer who leave great FB being confused on the DSR but that could be true. It's very difficult to see that you've received a 1 or 2 recently but yet all your FB is great. I just don't see what we can learn from this.

Not spam - eBay is testing a new feedback system based on Bain's "Net Promoter Score" (the consultant firm that brought us Donohoe and Meg Whitman)

It seems to me this new way only gives protection for the buyer and absolutely none for the seller. Since they started using this method my feedback went from 100 (I,ve had 100% for years) to 99.6 today, even tho I pack extremely well and fast and use exact shipping most of the time.
Since you have no idea which customer gave you the low feedback you are going to give him a fabulous one in return. So, I have decided today that I may no longer give any feedback at all.
What happened to if a customer wasn,t happy about whatever, they would contact you first, why? because of this "new" way ebay. Sorry, for sounding off.
If someone has a different take I,m open to hear it.

babs: the problem is if you don't leave feedback, you will be downgraded on "communication". I decided to lower my shipping prices and not charge for packing etc. since Canadian shipping is so high. Since I did that, my 30 day DSR's for shipping have gone from 4.97 to 4.82! Go figure, maybe I should raise my prices again. I just feel as a seller that I just can't win.

since i have begun selling on ebay in sept. 2000, it has become so complicated this rating system.
One used to give a positive or a negative, both ways.
On one hand, it's good they have enhansed security at Paypal, long overdue.
But the powers that be at eBay have made it a nightmare for sellers. How can they let people give feedback, rate anonymously -- I think people who don't sell and have never sold sometimes do not realize the cost of shipping. And I do not add extra to shipping. A lot of times I ate shipping costs. That is one example. Now ebay is doing something else to complicate things? By that I mean get information that may or may not be an accurate measure of buyer's satisfaction.
