Greetings:
I know this is the eBay outlook, but I could not find another forum that seemed any better.
Has anyone used google checkout? I use PayPal since 2000. I also used to take checks and money orders but we know how eBay feels about that now. Many other bid and merchant sites allow google checkout. So I went online to look into it. Typical google: overload you with more information than you never asked for.
I was just wondering, for anyone who has used it did it work smoothly?
thanks,
gmt

I have used Google Checkout. It was very easy to use. I am not sure where you intend to use it. Google checkout came installed on the shopping cart I now use, and is available at StampWants.

I have since stopped using it. If you use PayPal, Google, Credit Cards and Moneybookers, together, as I have, things will become a nightmare. Money all over the place, and much security exposure. For a period of time, I was getting email from Moneybookers about failed login attempts (not mine).

PayPal still is the dominate payment source. Soooo, to maintain my sanity and books, I dropped Google and Moneybookers from my store. I now only accept PayPal, and Credit cards for payment.

I just do not believe you will handle many payments through Google, as buyers prefer PayPal, and credit cards for payment.

I have a google checkout account and used it a few times, this is how it goes-
some one said he has problem getting into paypal ,then I sent him a google checkout invoice so he can pay .
First both buyer and seller must register with Google chekout.
Google checkout has email customer service only,no phone call and does not work on weekend.

My ecrater buyers pay with Google Checkout more than 80% of the time. I suspect that is because they are previous ebay users who are fed up with ebay and PayPal.

Google Checkout is easy to use as long as you know what you are doing and do not run into any problems. As Hwahwa said, their support is minimum.

Google checkout is not worth the hassle if you only sell on ebay.

Thank you all for your insight. I didn't like one thing I read about google checkout: they disburse twice a month. I like PayPal's policy of letting me decide if I want to transfer my earnings. well thanks,

??? Google pays out in 2 to 4 days, direct deposit to your checking account.

Perhaps you were thinking of Half.com? They only pay out every 2 weeks.
