One question .... what the heck is a "DIRECTOR VERTICALS"?

Director of Vertical Markets. I used to be one. Edited to add: my last auction listings were total failures, they were my best current cards and 1/8th of them sold - all at opening bid. I'm doing much better with my fixed price listings starting at a higher price.

I didn't know you were a DOVM! I am, as you know and I might add so are you, vertically challenged. I guess Stephanie Titenalius (or whatever her name was - who can keep track any more) got the boot so now we have a DOVM announcing stuff like this.

So...to two vertically challenged ladies from another...what exactly are 'Vertical Markets'?

Hopefully you will say that she is in charge of making absolutely certain that the EBay Market goes one way and that is vertically UP not vertically DOWN.

A vertical market is one where the customers (in this case, eBay's customers, the sellers) are in a similar industry and have similar needs for eBay's services. Presumably, stamp dealers have similar concerns as other stamp dealers, which may be a different set of concerns than pottery and glass sellers have. If some concerns are shared by everyone, then eBay should address them horizontally, across the board.

Thank you for the explanation. Now I understand. I had just never heard that term before.

I would still like her job description to include that she has to make the market go vertically UP!
