I just found an item that I filed a dispute on last month and closed it b/c I never heard from the bidder. What drew my attention to this item was that the bidder finally contacted me with the excuse that their computer died and they had no internet access for a month.

When I was reviewing the transaction and dispute I read the following statement eBay put on this dispute:

Case status: Closed. Strike Reversed. The Unpaid Item strike has been removed for the buyer for this transaction.

I called eBay wanting an explanation why this was reversed. Right away I got the typical eBay response of, "we can't give you detailed information regarding the bidders account."

The CSR went on to give me "hypothetical" information regarding the dispute process. Apparently, bidders can appeal the npb dispute to eBay without the sellers knowledge or input. eBay can also remove the strike if they feel like it, though the CSR stated that wasn't the case (lol). He did go as far as to tell me that he could not find a reasonable excuse for the bidder to have the strike removed and that it was likely an eBay error.

I have had it with eBay and am going to start filing complaints with the Attorney General's office about how eBay conducts their business and the unfair practices they use against sellers. It is obvious that it is more important for eBay to allow deadbeat bidders to continue to bid on items when they don't pay. eBay won't even follow their own guidelines. When I mentioned filing a complaint with the AG, the CSR asked me if I was threatening legal action and that if I was he had to terminate the call. I told him that I was going to file a complaint against eBay. He terminated the call.

eBay is against sellers in ALL matters. I know someone insinuated I was paranoid b/c I suggested a conspiracy by eBay to keep sellers from achieving high DSRs (preventing the seller discounts). How much clearer can it be that eBay wants sellers money at any and all costs. They keep your listing fees even though a deadbeat bidder steals the auction. They promote a phony rating system that is used to push sellers to meet unachievable expectations based on opinion and perception not reality.
