I don't have an Ebay store, but sometimes use the GTC or FP30 option (I don't think it's available for all categories). The listing fee for me is .40 vs. .03 for a store listing. That sounds good but...
My question is, do the items show up in Ebay's search the same way? I don't think so. I believe store items only show up in normal search if there is less than a certain # of items available. Now when my fixed price 30 day or GTC listings they seem to go into Ebay's searches just the same as regular listings. Am I wrong?
It seems the tradeoff between the lower store listing fees, and the increased visibility when I pay the normal .40 cent fee is hard to justify. Could someone clarify this for me if they have better information.
Thanks

Hello,

Your exactly right, your storefront listings will not receive the same exposure as your regular eBay listings (auctions or fixed price listings.)

You'll notice that storefront search results typically show well below all of the regular eBay search results but are much cheaper to post.

Chris

So at no point do store listings go into the normal Ebay search?
Not even when ending in the 30 day cycle or when just listed?
Makes me wonder if having a store is worth it unless you have an awful lot of very slow selling merchandise. Might was well pay the .40 per 30 day listing cycle?
If I sell only one item more per year/per title it's probably worth the approximate 5.00/year cost of the listing vs. 50 cents/year for a store listing.
Although I've heard that store listings get some sort of boost with internet search engines so maybe that is an additional value to a basic store?

If you have a store - you almost have to run auctions everyday to promote yourself - so to speak.

Why not just pay 35 cents Buy it now and leave them on Ebay until they are sold?

Ebay has been playing with different search options and in certain test groups, stores DO appear in the core search. I spend the 35 cents twice to list a item in core, then list it in my store where eventually it is found and sold.

Ebabe is right, you have to run core listings to promote your store. I have a link in every listing to similar items in my store.
