I just feel victim to a buyer that threatened me, to either take the watch they purchased from us and issue full refund including shipping charges back to us, or he will give me negative feedback and put in feedback that I sell Knock off watches.
I have Jewelery store and all my watches purchased directly from the manufactures, I don't buy second hand my feedback speaks for itself 100%.
I gave this guy refund so he doesn't rate me on e bay and lower my ranking since e bay uses feedback for placements of the items on the site.
Shame on e bay.

I understand why you did this but maybe you should have held your ground and let him try prove it was a fake. I've had no experience with this but surely if you have documentation that you purchased the watch from the manufacturer - ebay would side with you.
Did he return the same watch?

Hello,

This is called Feedback Extortion. Once someone threatens to leave you negative feedback unless you ________ - you will be able to get that feedback removed even if they do leave it.

Ideally they would have been dumb enough to send you this threat via the eBay message system, but even if they email you direct be sure to hang onto the original message with headers to report them when/if needed.

Regards,
Chris

I just have a neg feedback removed from a UK bidder who never pay,not only did she refuse to pay,she kept saying she will neg me.
She did .
First time Ebay refused as they were looking at the wrong item, then they said NO again because I am not nice to this bidder by calling her a deadbeat, third time must be the charm,as I plan to find a lawyer to get a court order to remove the neg.
I also got a neg from a bidder who wants his refund before he returned the item and EBAY said nothing they can do.
EBAY SUCKS CANAL WATER !

I also had a buyer who I sent the wrong bracelet to and I told him send it back I will pay all fees and then I will send him the right bracelet,

He said no, you send me the right bracelet first or I will give you a neg.

Then I told him I reported him to ebay for what he said, so then he tells me just send me a check or MO and I will not give you a neg.

I told him, you are bound to this auction ebay said and they also said you must send back the bracelet before you get the right one. He told me fine, so 2 weeks later he takes the package to the PO and tells them he is refusing to accept it so they send it back to me and he don't pay a dime..

I send him the right bracelet and he leaves me a positive but all Neg remarks. and said I didn't give him the money to send it back.
I never spoke with ebay I just told him I did.

Then another buyer doesn't pay for 7 days so since it was Xmas I didn't want to file a NPB
so I waited for 2 days after Xmas to file and she contacts me and says.....YOU HAVE A LOT OF NERVE, YOU CAN KEEP YOUR JUNK I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR LOUSY AUCTION. AND I WILL NEG YOU FOR WHAT YOU DID.

I told her I don't care what you do, you could not pay, you could pay, or do what it is you do best, just don't write me anymore. I don't need to be spoken to by a buyer who is wrong and wants to make me out to be the wrong one.

Well she apologized and paid, I sent the bracelet, she contacts me saying it is not sterling. I said just send it back I know it is Sterling. She didn't leave my FB yet but this should be very interesting to see what she does next.

Hi, I contacted e bay and they didn't seem to worry much about it, there respond was that if I get enough positive feedback this negative want even show up eventually, honestly I know I was wrong by giving this guy refund, but on the other hand I was thinking about my sales, we are heading to slow season and people have more time now to read feedback, the holiday rush is over.
Thank you all

Do not wate your time reporting feedback extorsion...I have had several of these and Ebay does nothing.....it was a complete waste off my time....10 years of selling on Ebay and the feedback system is by far the biggest Ebay mistake they have made. Seller discontent is at a all time high from what I see.

Every time I give thought to putting a few things on ebay I read one of these and think .... I don't need any more anxt in my life! I would rather run older merch through a local auction house and take my chances than deal with their crap. My web site is still doing well,I'm VERY grateful.

I have tested to see if negative feedback makes any difference on ebay auctions many times. I have IDs with no negatives and IDs with negatives. I have listed identical items on them with not enough difference to matter.

Most buyers do not look at feedback unless they have a problem and that is after they won the item. Also anyone that does not understand that you can not make everyone 100% happy I would rather not sell to anyway.

Sellers put way to much thought into feedback. Don't worry about a negative now and then it does not matter.

I beg to differ, for certain categories of goods, bidders do read the feedbacks-watches,jewelry,antique when condition, authenticity and high dollar amount are important.
When someone left you an unfair negative feedback, you can add your own comments under his feedback, people do read .
If you have a lawyer friend ,ask what does it take to get a court order to have the neg remove.
In Libertywatch case,if one buyer said he is selling knockoffs,it will affect his sales, same with bidders who said you are selling fake antiques or pack poorly etc or worse take the money and never ship!

When I shop on ebay I always read FB of the seller. When shopping for Indiana Jones lego toy for Grandson there were sellers with negs and selling it a few dollars cheaper,

This set was 132.94 with shipping and the seller had no negs, I could have saved a few dollars buying from other sellers with 1 or more negs but would rather pay more from a seller with no negs

This buyer had 1 neutral where the buyer said, " didn't answer my email" lol sometimes I wonder what some buyers are even doing on Ebay.

Some buyers are just nasty so you need to read what they said and use your own judgment. Most of the times you can tell that the seller didn't deserve the FB that the buyer left..

I don't believe FB has anything to do with placement on ebay, There are other things that help with placement but not FB.

Even after you gave him a refund he could still rate you as a seller and leave you FB, just giving a refund doesn't stop him from rating you.

I was getting a 15% discount on Ebay fees as a powerseller until some bidders neg me,so now I get 5%,it looks like this month I will be back getting 15%.
Of course we all know good things dont last long on Ebay,it will stop this 15% discount in April.

Your discount level is determined monthly between the 23rd and 27th of that month. This 5 day window ONLY is what Ebay uses to determine your discount. I found this out last month. My discount level went from 20% to 5% during that time because of the shipping costs rating that a couple buyers dinged me on during that time and I was ticked. I called ebay stating all my DSR ratings were over 4.9 for the entire month and I was informed that it does not matter what it is for the entire months average but what it is for that 5 day window, cost me $95.00. Ebay has a many ways of putting the shaft to their sellers and after 10 years of Ebay selling I am getting tired of it.

i wonder how many state attorney's offices have files on eBay from disgruntled sellers complaining about their service.

i had a buyer who didn't pay, so I filed a dispute. they still didn't pay. so i closed it and received the FVF.

the buyer then contacted ebay and asked that the warning be removed. so ebay obliged. i called ebay about it and they told me they removed the warning b/c it was the buyers first offense and that they do things on a individual basis.

my response was, they have an obligation to protect sellers from non paying bidders. ebay rep said it was in the best interest of the ebay community. i disagreed and asked him if the bidder would have been suspended for his first offense. he said no. i pointed out that ebay basically told the bidder it was ok not to pay for items as long as they contact ebay after and beg for forgiveness. the warning should have stuck so that if the bidder did it again, they would get a 2nd warning and possible suspension. if the first was a freebie, why let it disappear?

it is a double standard at ebay. what is good for the bidder isn't good for the seller. you can be a 10 year seller and still get screwed by one NPB that happens to respond to a dispute. it is a sham.
