I didn't know this but thanks to FatWallet.com I've bought 2 replacement appliances for our rental unit for a fraction of the cost in the last couple of days and I'm passing it on in case it can help anybody else.

If you'll log onto the Sears Outlet webpage and shop it - you don't have to have a Sears Outlet locally - I don't. Everybody has a Sears store - right? So you shop online @ Sears Outlet.com - I picked up a Stainless Steel over the range microwave for $63.00 and Stainless Steel Bosch dishwasher for $250.

Here's what was funny for me They were listed as refurbs. When I went to pick up the microwave - I insisted on opening it up to inspect it - as you have the right to refuse it. The guys kept insisting that it was brand new and it *looked* like it so I said OK. Sure enough, when I got it home and opened it up it was. The dishwasher was still shrink-wrapped and everything with the Styrofoam and wood.

You can choose your store(s) from the Map and I chose several surrounding nearby stores. You will have to DRIVE to the store, there is no delivery - none!! but the savings more than make up for it if you choose that option.

Are you saying what you bought at Sears outlet.com ,you can pick them up at regular Sears store?
May be they just want to sell you the new ones they haev so they dont have to ship them .
These days they are so anxious to sell you someday,so if they make less money,it is better than nothing.

yes - what I'm buying at Sears Outlet I'm picking up at the Sears store.

But what I am buying is the discontinued model that are still *new* just are not on the floor but hidden away in the back room.

Works for me with the $$ I'm saving.

I could have bought the GE Cafe dishwasher Stainless Steel for $399 that sells for some ridiculous price but it had bad reviews so I passed on it and went for the $250 Bosch that I knew was quiet which is what I wanted. I couldn't have gotten white for $250 with a stainless steel tub inside.

The Bosch is very quiet. It also takes a ridiculously long time to complete a cycle and the dishes are may still be wet when it's done. Bosch doesn't use direct heat to dry.

For all that we wanted one that was quiet, we end up starting it before we go to bed anyway, so it doesn't matter.

European appliances. Feh. We stayed in an apartment at London's Athenaeum Hotel. There was one of those silly little washer/dryer thingies in the kitchen. It took eight hours to do two pairs of jeans.

I thought the "no heat" was weird at first but I got used to it pretty quick. And I don't wash until the middle of the night or I do the quick wash.

Hey I just bought a Dyson animal DC14 for $99.00!

DH said to quit shopping - but I really needed a new vac.
