Is there a way to opt out of the notification from eBay to the buyer that they need to close out their auctions? I have a couple of buyers without credit cards that send checks, and I have several buyers that bid over a couple of weeks, and I don't want them to receive these notifications. I can remind my own buyers if it is time to pay.

Amber, if you are talking about the Payment Reminder notices that EBay are sending there is a lot about it on the Discussion Boards.
It seems that you cannot opt out and a lot of Sellers are really angry for the same reasons that you mention.
We all have those long time Buyers who buy over a week or two and then pay so we can ship everything together.
Just another way for EBay to insert themselves between OUR Buyers (they insist that they OWN the buyers) and ourselves.
I really think that EBay Management (read JD) have become more and more paranoid about the possibility that Buyers and Sellers may actually have contact with each other.

otteropp:I was afraid of that, that's why I could find it to opt out. I feel that these are MY buyers, and if I choose to wait for them to pay, that's up to me. About 32% of my buyers are repeats, and I certainly don't want to upset them. I guess I am going to have to mention the fact that they will get this message from eBay, and it's not from me.

IN the past I have marked the item as paid while I wait for the check or mo. You can always "unmark" the item as paid if you have too.

Vintage..have to be careful about marking it as paid.
When they went to Paypal only but said we could accept a cheque or Money Order they also said that if more than 15% ( I think that was the figure) of our sales did not show as being paid by PayPal they would know we were accepting 'too many' other forms of payment and we would face the wrath of EBay!
