I was relisting an item and this message popped up, is this one of the New Rules?

Instead of relisting through Ebay I could send it as a new listing from my program that I use to list, But what is the purpose of this ridicules rule?

toni

You can not submit your listing due to the following problems

Important message

We're sorry for the inconvenience, but in order to maintain a safe trading environment, there's a limit on the number of times individual sellers can list certain items in a period of 30 consecutive days.

You've reached the 30-day selling limit for the type of item you're trying to list. This isn't a reflection on your account or selling activity. These limits apply to all accounts. But it does mean you won't be able to complete this listing right now. (You can still list other kinds of items, though.)

Items that are subject to selling limits can change, so we can’t be specific about which listings fall under these protective limits.

Long-time sellers with proven track records and other positive account attributes may be eligible for higher selling limits. If you believe that you would qualify, please review our selling limits page for more information.

How dumb is that??!! They are really shooting themselves in the foot for this rule, no listing, no fees!! And they can't even have the common courtesy to tell you on what categories/listings this applies.

exactly right, Don't even understand why a rule like this is in effect, it just doesn't even make any sense to me. Why should it matter to ebay how often you want to relist an auction?
I listed it directly from my listing program, so..........what's the point of this Rule

toni, curious as to how many times you have relisted this widget in the last 30 days and what top category is it in?

I seem to remember reading about the rule when they made the changes last fall.

It was a jewelry lot. I'm not sure if it was listed a few times within a 30 day period, but I don't see the reasoning for this rule.

What if I had a few of the same items and just wanted to list one at a time, after each one sells I just use the same auction listing to relist each time but I guess you can't do that after a certain amount of times.

I just didn't know a rule like this existed.

Check for VERO words in the title. I got that message over a year ago when I tried to relist a postcard from a city that was also a VERO term for a brand of china.
