A friend asked me to try to sell a few old records. This one is a puzzle to both of us. Anybody know the language? And, if so, what the label is saying? Thanks much. ~Adele

Something in the large family of Indonesian languages and dialects, Indonesian or Malay being the most likely, maybe Javan.
The big clue is that the record was made in Holland. Indonesia was a Dutch colony until after WWII.

It's not Dutch...I agree with karenmx on this...The Dutch had all sorts of Indonesian colonies and even today, when you visit Amsterdam, you'll find more restaurants offering that kind of cuisine than you will traditional Dutch food.

Hello Adele,
Is it Hebrew maybe? That's just a guess, but maybe someone here will know for sure. I also wonder about the "Made in Holland" being in English. If it was made for buyers with a close connection to Holland, wouldn't the "Made in Holland" text be in Dutch?

Thanks, Neglus. Any chance your daughter could translate, if only the name of the song? I could send the pix to her.
