I hate the concept of cashing in on disasters, I waited over a month before listing my Hotel Montana in Haiti postcard last night, where 200 died. In the same batch, I had 2 Chile postcards. They sold immediately.

I agree with you, I usually hold back on items that have any link to disasters.
I have sometimes had something with a connection but I always feel it would be tacky to list them. I had a souvenir spoon based on the famous photo of the fireman in New York holding a child. I held on to that until a few months ago and when I listed it..it sold immediately.
As evidenced by your Chile postcards which you listed before knowing there was to be an earthquake last night.....people buy!
PS. We are heading to Lincoln City on April 9th for 3 weeks!

I guess it is a loose definition of disaster, but back in 1994, I consigned an OJ Simpson rookie football card to an auction. I had submitted it weeks before the auction. The auction went live right after the car chase. I sold that card for a LOT more than it is worth today, a LOT more!

Yeah I agree - DH has thousands of albums - many by Micheal Jackson. I never would have thought to sell them right after MJ died.
