Isn't Vendio a "Third Party Tool"?

Per Ebay:

"How do I get the Promotional Rate?
You will automatically receive the Promotional Rate when you list with eBay Giving Works in Fixed Price and Auction-style through Sell Your Item Form, eBay Seller Tools, and most third-party tools."

Though on the surface it seems like a promotional rate, you are saving 50% off only on your listing fee and donating a minimum of 10% of the final value fee to one of eBay's charities.

If you list an item at $200, you'll save 50% of the $2.00 listing fee, or pay $1. If your item sells for $200 you will pay your FVF to eBay of about $18, plus you will donate $20 (minimum at 10%) to one of eBay's charities. You will have paid almost $18 to save that $1.00 in listing fees.

Though it is nice to donate, I wouldn't really consider this a promotional offer. Yes, you can launch your listings from Vendio and still get the listing discount. You should donate your money to a charity of your choice. You can always advertise in your listing that you are donating a percentage of your listing to that charity.

Shag, how do you list Giving Works items through Vendio? I've never been able to figure it out.

I don't think you can list Giving Works thru Vendio. I have never used Giving Works.

This year we gave to Mercy Corps here in Portland, and will give to either the Pixie Project or some other pet group. We normally will do our donations to one social group and one pet or environmental organization and prefer to keep it to smaller groups that have smaller budgets with low administrative costs. I worked in Non Profit and these groups often struggle while larger groups do well (Kinda like all of the other thrift stores are to Goodwill in Portland).

We chose Mercy Corps because our business participated in the Mercy Corps NW IDA small business grant program a few years ago which helped us buy a van for our business. We figured we owed them. The IDA program is great, and helped us get $3000 in a 3:1 match. We saved $1000 and MCNW matched it with $3000. It covered half of the cost of the van, which we still use regularly. I went through a one night a week/8 week class. I wrote a business plan which will help us get loans (though we have never wanted one) or sell the business down the road. Since you're nearby, you should check it out.

I should add... there is a difference between Mercy Corps and Mercy Corps NW. Mercy Corps does International relief, Mercy Corps NW does the IDA programs, small business loans, and other local programs.

I guess my point is that Vendio users can't take advantage of the promotion because Giving Works is another eBay feature (first offered how many years ago)? Vendio has not caught up with yet.

Vendio hasn't caught up with many things. Vendio is fading into the sunset for me. It was great when eBay didn't have many of the features that they have now, but Vendio hasn't managed to be creative for several years now and paying them money each month for inferior services just doesn't make any sense.

It reminds me of when I was using stamps.com to print my shipping labels. It was quick and easy and well worth the $16 a month I paid to manage the thousands of transactions I did each year. However, my quantity has declined since, and Paypal now offers shipping labels without the $16 charge. I don't have to do much other than click.

As to using PayPal for printing USPS shipping labels - similarly, mailing labels can be printed for no charge, and at the same shipping price, using Click-N-Ship. Further, if you were to pay for the cost of postage with your PayPal card, you would receive an extra 1.5% break on the cost of postage.

That rebate can add up to a sum equal to the profit of one good sale, over the course of a month.

The problem with using USPS click and ship is that we have to enter buyer address line by line, while on Paypal it is all filled in for us.
Unless you know a way we dont know.
AMZN does not have this paypal feature.

I use stamps.com. They have a batch import that gets all you info from ebay and prints all labels at once.
you can also print 1st class international on stamps. for small things it works real well.
also delivery conformation get a discount. emails are send to receivers.
