I have attempted to put some things on "markdown sale".
I have tried to do it on everything, but when I do that only about 75% of the listings get into the sale. I tried to do it by category and it put things NOT in the category on sale.
Any ideas, or has anyone else had this experience?

it also seems very slow. i relisted many items this morning. Even 20 minutes after listing something, I can't get it to be included in the sale even though it is part of a category that I want on sale. I know it won't include items added after the sale starts. This is happening when I select items for sale within a specific category. Some items are not showing up.

I thought I saw an announcement on Vendio about the phasing out of eBay stores--or was that a dream??

Where have you been hiding, Road?
Go to Ebay seller central, they are blaming poor auction sale on Ebay stores. They said store items used to hide nicely in a dark corner not to be seen or heard and now they are taking center stage!
I opened a store on March 14 and so far sold 60 items.

i managed to get everything working as it should... but it was quite slow. it appears there is almost a half hour lag between listing or relisting and being able to put those items on sale. first time doing so.

hwahwa - what do you sell? I'm not looking for your trade secrets - just a general idea - like old stuff, new stuff, electronics, clothes, etc?

I sell mostly collectibles-prints,jewelry,small figurines no more than 12 inches tall-porcelain,resin,metal,glass and crystal .
Lately I have listed some sterling silver lots and they sold out in a few days.
I used to sell auction style now I just leave them in my store ,it saves me time to pursue other activities .
It seems there are many brick and mortar or cyber store dealers hunting on Ebay!
Also many of my buyers are outside USA,some sellers may charge 35 dollars for shipping espress or priority so there is tracking,I charge half as much or 1/4 as much and ship first class mail with or without insurance,so far no problem.

I'll have to look into the price of sterling - I've got a few odd pieces that I should list. So far I'm just doing auctions. I had an ebay store a few years back, but I got busy, wasn't putting much effort into it and closed it, but I've been spending a little more time with Ebay lately, I might give it a try again.

The ratio of gold to silver is a ridiculous 60:1,oil to gas at one time was 11:1 .
So silver has some catchup to do,they dont want silver jewelry, they want silverware, your coffee pot,creamer,s/p shakers unweighted, plate, candleholder etc, signed or unsigned.

I have been thinking of opening an Ebay store also. Can anybody tell me if you can export your items from Vendio store to Ebay store, or is only to Ebay auctions?
There are no more eBay store format listings, due to a recent eBay change. However you may use Vendio to list items to the remaining eBay format listings (fixed price and auctions) -- which can then appear in your eBay store.

Nathan, I think Rick was asking if you cam exports items in a Vendio store to eBay. I know you can import eBay items into Vendio. Is the reverse true?
You may list an item to eBay using the same inventory item that is used for the Vendio Store item -- you would just need to fill in the eBay specific information and select to list the item to eBay.

i think there needs to be some clarification, because "There are no more eBay store format listings, due to a recent eBay change," doesn't quite paint an accurate picture.
You can still set up a store, but basically the store now consists of Fixed Price and Auction listings. It just groups your listings together in a much more effective way to market your other goods.
So, yes... you can use Vendio to launch to eBay. You just have to set up the eBay info for each item (category, shipping, etc) and list from there. It is great to do so with Vendio inventory and you can schedule your launch so your listings end at optimal times.

I believe Ebay software can upload your items from your PC,so if you can find a way to download your vendio items to your pc and the format it ,then use Ebay software to up load to your store.
I think it is sales manager pro,you may have to subscribe to a premium store or higher to use that software.

Thanks again to everydody who has taken the time to help me. I think I have it figured out, all but the cost comparison. I can open a Ebay basic store for $15.95 plus 20 cents per fixed price item. 100 items plus the base cost is $35.95 a month including free image hosting. Now if I list 100 fixed price items through Vendio at 50 cents per item (ebay charges), I am looking at $50 plus $10 for vendio plus what ever image level I am at. I really like Vendio but I am not sure if the costs are comparible. As anybody done there own cost studies and and can give some input? I am trying to save as much money as I can every month.
Thanks again
Rick

to be quite honest, i haven't used vendio to launch items in awhile. i am probably going to close down one of my accounts and phase out the other over the next few months.
i converted to apple, bought garagesale software and haven't looked back since. garagesale is a flat fee software ($35) which is faster and easier to use than vendio. there are a few minor down sides, but really, nothing that justifies paying vendio so much money for. in fact, the only real inconvenience with garage sale is scheduling auctions. because the software is offline, my computer needs to be on and gsale open for it to launch at scheduled times. not a biggie, because apple has a built in scheduler in ical that will turn on my computer at a specific time and open the software too. other than that, i find it far superior than vendio to launch auctions. with the fixed price format, i just put my inventory in the listing and can sell as many items from my inventory as i want. that cuts vendio inventory out.
sorry vendio... i've been with you since you were free and was auctionwatch, but you have become too cost prohibitive and are the next in line to get the axe in my ever so tightening budget.
i will add, if vendio gets their act together and lowers their fees... there is always a chance i'd consider using them for auctions and fixed price... but it is just too expensive.

here is a link to one of my listings using Garagesale. I really like the layout much better.

I've always wanted to own a mac, and when it came down to justifying buying a new laptop, I weighed many things including my frustrations with windows, and the costs, both front and back end.
A decent $800 laptop vs. a $1300 macbook pro. $500 difference. If I pay Vendio $30-50 a month between two accounts, I am looking at cutting out $360-600 a year. With eBay now hosting photos for free, I really have no justification for using Vendio, except for inventory/store for our website (non-eBay sales).
After I bought my macbook pro, I loved it so much that 3 weeks later I bought an iMac desktop. I plan to reinvent our website with the mac, and also axe my godaddy accounts.
It is all about cutting out unnecessary waste and expenses, while improving my time.
Even though eBay isn't as fun as it used to be, using a mac has helped make it much less frustrating and i enjoy using my computer again.

Shaqmidmod, Thanks for the input. It seems that you are already doing what I have been thinking about. The clincher for me is probably the free image hosting by Ebay. I was concerned about inventory control, but vendio can be used for that in the Store mode. I dont like the blank look that ebay provides as a generic background and I dont want to pay an extra fee on a regular basis for a design. I will check out Garage Sale. Once again thanks for the tips.
