I have never had such a terrible run on eBay and I have been a member since 1999. I have watchers but no bids and no sales. I have some auctions(collectibles) waiting in Pending, but I think I will take a vacation and just let them sit there for a while. Is anyone else having the same outcome?

Same here! I haven't had a sale in almost a week. It's never been this bad for me!

Sales are really bad here as well. I've had a couple of offers but nothing on auctions.
I opened a store to help lower my cost but it has not helped sales.

Sales were bad for me for a couple of weeks and then on again this weekend. Pixiamom and I are convinced, now more than ever, that there is a faucet effect - sales "on" or "off". I'd bet that's how eBay is trying to overcome buyer "overload" now that Stores are in Core and auctions are free (by showing a seller's listings or not showing a seller's listings).

My auctions, which have had pretty much the same sell through for the past 8 years (except when they had Stores in Search back in 2006)have really sucked during the "Faucet off" periods.

For those of us who have decided to stay on eBay, the question is how to adapt, how to make it work in this environment. I am waiting for the dust to settle before making any radical decisions and for now I just keep on keepin' on.

yep, sales down here too. to make matters worse, i realized that when i converted my auctions to fixed price, i was charged $1 for each listing for Gallery enhanced feature. I caught it this time.

eBay is getting more and more frustrating.

A couple of weeks back my auctions were closing with opening bids. Bidders waited till the last minute to jump in. I got tired of selling way below what they should have brought, so I decided to list only buy it nows.
Now I haven't sold anything, and have watchers on my buy it nows.
Anybody suggest a nice vacation spot?

Maui is nice for vacation! I agree, sales are way down but I keep plugging along, need that gas and grocery money. You never know what they want! I am trying Etsy and having a little success there, 20 cents to list for 4 months, good listing spot for things that did not sell on eBay after 3 tries and it results in surprises (a sale or two) every few days.

Some of the reasons I have heard are- that old servers are being phased out, search engine will look at an item, how long has it been listed, how many views and if no one buys or interested, then it will be pushed back in 'best match' search.
Thats how some items show up on page 11!

guessing how items appear in eBay's search at any given time is like clapping with one hand.

When store items first got listed i had nice sales from my store listings, now i will be lucky if i sell 1 or 2 items a week, and these are $5 or $10 items so really not even enough to cover ebay fees. EBAY really messed up this time. I have always managed to adapt to ebay changes, i have tried everything i know and nothing seems to work. Not sure what needs to be done to get sales anymore.... anyone haves sales like to share some secerts because, store items not selling, BIN items not selling, Auction items not selling, Even giving away items way below cost not selling... I have over 1200 items listed on one account and another 200 on the other 2 accounts and NOTHING is selling, i am in various categories, automotive, home decor, electronics, clothing. NOTHING!!! How much more of this can we take, EBAY is BROKE!!!!

sorry cant make it clickable.
There are too many items on Ebay, where do people find the money to list over 1000 items?
Some have like 6000-8000 items, what are they selling and do they really have the goods in possession?

So i understand now, if you are not a top rated seller you listings will not show up in the first couple of pages. Even if you are above average, unless you are top rated, your sales will never come. Well my feedback is really good but not enough for top rated so my listings are not showing up up front. So since ebay is not doing there part to earn MY money then i will have to move on. One less seller on ebay, i will take my money and my 1200 items and list them on my site which i already have and use other avenues to promet my sight and list in other locations. FORGET EBAY. Been with ebay since they started and now this is how they repay us.

bizzytop - I am a TRS on 2 of my 3 ID's and believe me it doesn't make a difference. I am now at 1/3 of what my sales were this time last year. It would have been worst but I found a box of broken gold jewelry at a garage and did a quick sale on it.
I've worked harder this past week than I have in 5 years to no avail.
So unless you are sitting on a big pot of gold right now, I think we are all just out of luck.
Does anyone have a chart that shows ebay's profits lately. I bet they aren't doing that great either.

Speaking of charts...

Does this chart reflect seller dissatisfaction?

Bloomberg chart

Of course, PayPal is serving to bolster Ebay's profit.

Disappointing forecast...

Really, because when i did a search in 3 of my category the first 3 pages were from TRS and items that were ending soon, the rest of the crowd me included buried after page 4 or 5. Then i looked at the sales of the TRS in my category, and they seem to be doing ok, and by ok i mean they are having daliy sales while the rest of us struggle to make a sale a week. Also when i visited the ebay forum found that alot of the sellers there feel the same way.

if you click on their listings, what do you see?
22 plastic dish holders for 22.49 buy it now,old ashtray, old hawaii shirt, coffee mugs,2.99 dollars resin figurines?
How many plastic dishholders do we need?
Yahoo used to have real people reviewing listings,so did Overstock.com when it first launched its auction.
What matter the most right now for Ebay is FVF?
It takes the same resources to host a 99 cents item or a 99 dollars items, which one would you rather have on your venue?
get real,LEARN TO READ EBAY'S LIPS!

Well maybe it's just me but my sales are just depressing.
I'm looking for anything that I think will sell this coming week!!

I have to look back to the holidays when I can honestly say things were doing great... but then again I had something nobody else had and was selling it like hotcakes. After the holiday season, sales fell like a ball slowly rolling off a table.

I have to keep eBay in perspective. I was much more wary of their schemes last year, but decided to give this new format a shot. With the exception of the first week trying it, it has been terrible.

The thing is that I'm not sure what can be done on our end. If eBay can't attract buyers, then it doesn't matter if all the listings are free... it will be hard to sell to nobody.

I have sold 132 items in my Ebay shop todate,so there are buyers.
May be less buyers than before due to the economy.
What takes priority over collectibles?grocery, mortgage payment, car payment, student loan, insurance of all sorts, medical bills, alimoney, child support, gas, and last but not least savings!
I just came back from the supermarket, prime top sirloin goes for 3.95 a pound,I have not seen prime for many years in a regular supermarket!and not for 3.95 a pound?
So the shrimp business has been ruined by the oil spill, well they are selling jumbo gulf shrimp for 9.99 a pound.
For 9.99 I can feast on fresh never frozen jumbo gulf shrimp or I can have a big piece of prime sirloin.
What they are buying on Ebay is what you may not want to sell-an alternative to the greenback or euro or British pound as a store of value-aka gold, silver, platinum and the genuine proven antiques,no cutie pie collectibles such as vintage coffee mugs !
