I have just been speaking to powersellers office in regards to customers leaving feedback.

A customer just left me a negative because she did not like the exchange rate. As it turns out i was totally correct and was not overcharging as she said i was. Powersellers backed that and agreed with me 100%. So they are going to remove the feedback. It took her 7 days to answer our emails.

I complained about not being able to leave a negative feedback. I was told that this is going to change in the near future. It would seem that we will soon be able to leave negative feedback if we can justify it. About time.

Thanks for that Frank, all i can say is about bl**dy time, fed up with customers who take delight in being as awkward as possible, and also we can all see and therefore avoid them.

FB stinks right now. I opened a second ID to take advantage of the free listings if you do not have as store (dumbest Ebay idea ever).

One of my first few sales was for an item valued at $40. Winning bid 99 cents.Buyer claims I sent wrong item, but will not send pic, etc to prove it. I did not have another one, so I am confident I sent the correct one, but since it sold for 99 cents. I was not going to go through the hassle of shipping back and forth, etc.I refunded her money and told her to keep the item.

I got a negative and since this was a new account, my FB % is stinky. I have thought about how mean that was since she was not out anything. She got an item comparable to what she bid on, she got her refund in full, why leave a neg?? Because she could with no possible consequences.

That's very interesting - ebay is going to be very busy if they have to decide who can get a negative and who can't.

maybe the answer is to dump feedback altogether for sellers and buyers. just stick to the business at hand. i wish they would also dump the DSRs.

Shipping Rate? The buyer agreed to it when they purchased the item. Why rate us on what we are often charged for shipping. Something is clearly wrong when some sellers offer free shipping, but don't have 5.0 on shipping fees.

Shipping Time? Should be handling time. If the package is out the door within 2 days sellers should be ok. It isn't our fault it takes 2-3 days via Priority, 10 days for media. If we give options for shipping, it clearly states how long it may take. Once it is out of our hands, it is impossible to control. Sure, we take responsibility for who we use for shipping... but we have no choice but to ship it.

Communication? Everything is now automated on eBay that invoices are sent, shipping notifications are sent, we know when the item arrives. What more do they want???

If anything, there should be a DSR for how your item was packed for shipping. I am tired of spending money on packing materials to make sure things arrive safely, while the occasional seller throws it in a box wrapped in a paper bag and calls it good.

What's interesting about selling from a website is that if the customer feels the item took too long to get to her, there's really not much she can do about it except 1) write a complaint email (and I've never gotten one) or 2) just not shop with you again.

And that's exactly the way it should be.

Only in some bizarre twisted sicko world would customers be allowed to damage your future sales materially simply because their expectations were whacked.

you're absolutely right fluffy.

the irony in this is that eBay wants buyers to believe that they are getting eBay quality service. when you see sellers with a 95.3% feedback and DSRs with 4.2's, you don't remember the seller, you remember eBay.

Fluff: You are so right!!

I have come across some really MEAN customers lately. + FB, but nasty comments. This one customer left snarky comments for all of her purchases with many customers. I will cut and paste some later.

yeah, did ebay ever think that the DSRs also is a reflection of their product? some people don't like eBay... and even more hate Paypal. There are people who like the idea of blasting everything about a company, even those who use them.

Here are the comments from a recent customer. Obviously no one can please her.

Comment to me on FB:"very pretty when I cleaned then (sic) of dust"

This was for a very expensive pair of champagne flutes, new with tags, but out of the box. I wipe them off before shipping, but do not wash them since some people think that would mean they are not NEW. Now, wouldn't you wash any glassware you buy before using it or even putting it away??

To another seller: "smaller than it looked in picture".This was for a fire agate, the dimensions were clearly listed and the pics were on the tip of someone's finger. DUH!!

To another seller: "top loose"(sic)

To another: "arrived broken but I'm keeping it. Should have been packaged better."

She has a total of 5 feedbacks. These are the total of her feedback that she has left. No seller met her expectations!! I have no idea what she left for ***s.

Conversation through ebay:

"did you send my item yet? I didn't receive it"

"yes I did ship your item. Attached is the email you received with your confirmation number and instructions on how to track your package. I have checked the confirmation and it does appear that it arrived at your nearest postal center but has not been delivered yet. I will call the post office and get back to you today."

Same day:

"I have spoken with the mgr at the post office and they do not have the package. He said Lost or stolen..he didn;t really seem to care. I have just gone to Paypal and refunded your purchase price + s/h charges as this was in no way your fault or even mine but I want you to be happy. Please accept my apologies for the problem."

"Gee thanks so much. I appreciate the refund."

FB left by Mrs Gee Thanks so much:

NEG: I did not receive my package. Had to chase seller for refund. BAD!!!

Lord save us from feedback.

Oh my....this is all just so unfair!
EBay has to first of all get rid of the CEO and then turn the clock back a few years.
I know it is never going to happen and until then we are at the Buyer's mercy.

It is the scourge of the corporate mentality, they have taken over the country along with the evil bankers. Ebay has devolved since I joined in 1999.

On the River, if someone leaves you a bad feedback and it's obvious from the comment that they hate the product and/or Amazon itself, Amazon will remove it for you.

That sounds like it will be a very time consuming process of jumping through hoops just for privledge of leaving a negative feedback.
No argument that sellers should be able to leave negative FB, but that doesn't sound like it will be an effective use of time...not mine anyway.

The example cited by capplady serves as a prime example of the fiasco called feedback. If that neg can't/won't be removed, there's no justice.
