I shipped a large light and the guy who purchased it is never home and as I required an adult signature his 16 year old daughter can't sign.
They have attempted delivery 3 times so now unless he is willing to pick it up - it's coming back to me and I'll have to refund $350 to him.
Sometimes paypal rules can really come back to bite us!!!

i didn't think paypal required an adult signature, just a signature.

i was told by fed ex that the adult signature is only used for "adult content" items that must be given to an adult such as firearms, pornography, chemicals, etc.

I didn't know that shagmidmod. You can believe I won't use that option again.

I tried to wave the adult part to allow his daughter to sign, pay for another delivery but UPS wouldn't do it.

I sure hope he is going to pick it up.

i didn't know that either, until i tried to use it for something quite valuable. fed ex called me to make sure it was necessary. when i told them what i was shipping, they told me what that option was for.

Do you really want a child to sign for merchandise you are shipping? A child's signature is worthless, and could never be enforced as legitimate receipt.

He didn't pick it up so it's on the way back to me.
I won't even get my fees back as I had already filed for non-payment on the guy.
Great way to start the day.

why do you file for non payment when his crime is that he is never home ?
Now you have to eat the shipping fee both ways!

kozersky - I see what you are saying but he didn't understand why anybody had to sign for it.
His comment to me was "you have my money - just have them leave the #@%* thing on my door step. This is too much of hassle which I don't need - that's why I buy online" Very pleasant guy.

hwahwa - UPS isn't going to charge me to send it back. However it was $50 to ship so I'm out that and my fees.
I didn't file for non-payment over this - he didn't pay the 1st 7 days and I have auto filing for non-payer set up. He paid and the NPB was automatically closed.
