I was just checking out the USPS site to see about down loading the Shipping Assistant but in the FAQ it says you can't print the postage on the label.
I'm trying to find a way to print the postage for First Class and Parcel Post.
Anyone use Shipping Assistant and have these experiences?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Paypal.
USPS does not print first class or parcel or intl M bag labels, the only time I use it to print label is to get a discount on Priority or Express mail from USPS and another discount when I use my Paypal debit card as a credit card (I get 1 1/2% rebate from Paypal).

You can also pay and print labels directly from your My Ebay pages as well. It uses your paypal account and insurance is less expensive in most cases.

I used USPS Shipping Assistant when I first started but use Endicia now.
I love Endicia and love Vendio but wonder (sometimes) why I pay, when FREE is availible.
Convenience, easy for my bookwork.
Of course free has its benefits also, easy on the pocket.

The USPS has two systems available - Shipping Assistant and ClickNShip.
Shipping Assistant only provides a method of printing labels, complete with bar codes for mailing. You will have to apply your own postage - stamps or take to post office. I did note that Shipping Assistant can be used with a postage meter. With SA you can print 1st Class, Priority Mail, Express Mail, Parcel Post, and Media Mail labels.
ClickNShip provides label with postage applied. You can't print 1st Class, Media Mail, or Parcel Post labels with ClickNShip. Apparently, the USPS would rather you stand in line at your local office.
I have used both for quite some time. When using SA, I purchase stamps with my PayPal Debit Card, apply at home, and at least earn a discount on a monthly basis. While with ClickNShip, I use PayPal Card to purchase online and earn the discount which is considerable when totaled for the month.
Many will post that they purchase their labels at PayPal. Unfortunately, they are ignoring the additional discount available with the use of the PayPal Card. PayPal does not pass that extra % discount onto us when we buy labels from them.

We use Paypal to print most labels because it is integrated with Ebay and Half.com and we dont have to export buyer shipping address to USPS website.
I think Fluffy does that with her repeated customers.

Thanks so much.
I've used PayPal for postage in most cases but if it isn't an eBay sale, I was looking for another option than Click n Ship.

Sharon,
You can use PayPal shipping for non-eBay sales. I do it all the time with my website orders and sometimes for Amazon orders, too. (Although we can now buy postage right on Amazon.)
Login to PayPal and choose "Multi-Order Shipping" on the right-hand side. Once the Multi-Order Shipping tool starts up, you can create new orders and print with postage.
Hat tip to Glassgrl for pointing this out a couple of years ago.

In the early days of Ebay, many of us just copied the address from the payment envelope and there is no such thing as DC and customers seldom claim they did not get their package!

I'm waiting for the day when I have to send an item addressed to the buyer's screen name at a P.O. Box.
Something like -
pookiepooblue
P.O. Box xxxx
Anywhere, CA 00000
It is just a matter of time.

I used the USPS Shipping Assistant paid for postage. I have never printed a label and then paid for postage at the PO.

Bill, I've already done it.
Sometimes people will just not give you a real name.
I do occasionally get packages addressed to fluffythewondercat, even though I give them my name.

I have used USPS Shipping Assistant in the past and paid online, but use Endicia now.
I have always paid postage online, since 1999. I have used Endicia since 04.
