I've had this small pottery dog (7.25" high, 7.5" long, 4.5" deep) for about 15 years, purchased at an auction. I was getting ready to donate it to the thrift shop when I noticed for the first time that there was writing on the bottom of it.

** What kind of dog is this?

** Can you decipher the words on the bottom? I see "Kenneth" and "Dog" and a date of "1915." I'd love to know what the other words are!

I've always liked the colors in this dog's coat, and he was part of a 7-piece collection of chalkware dogs I used to have.

It's probably supposed to be a wire-haired fox terrier, but it's not a particularly good representation. Could be just a generic terrier.

Ah. That's "got". I wasn't sure, thought it almost looked like "A+", but not quite.

"Kenneth got me dog at _?_ Dec 18, 1915".

The _?_ almost looks like "Faganspadt" which doesn't come up in Google.

Someone believed in keeping track of gifts, it seems. I bet she'd be shocked to know it's still around 95 years later.

I think Logansport might well be it. Thanks!
