For several reasons, I recently blocked a winning bidder from further auctions. She gave me a negative and commented: "FAKE!!! BEWARE!!!". While I've had over 3000 positives (this is my first neg in several years) and this neg is underserved, I can live with it and the lower star rating. What REALLY irkes me, though, is the comment as it reflects negatively on the item I sold. An even odder twist is that I've had 2 e-mails from the bidder complaining that she was blocked from bidding on a current auction and, her words..."I'f you'll unblock me, I want to bid on...". A bidder who claims fake wants to continue bidding??? Bizarre. Anyway, I'm considering replying to her negative with the following: "Libelous slander. Dissatisfied blocked bidder wants to bid. Item is authentic and as described". Is this comment a bit "too much"...I've tried to make it factual and accurate. Any comments are welcome...I'm going to contact eBay to see if they can remove the comment. Not expecting much success...but who knows and I can verify facts with e-mails.

"Libelous slander" is redundant, and it's not slander, just libel.

Slander is a spoken statement, libel is a written statement.

Thanks...perhaps "libelous statement" better and more accurate?

The best is to ignore her,I am serious, think about it tonight when you go to bed.
You have already blocked her, your job is done, move on to something else.
I am thinking of asking where Ebay finds these bidders?

I would just keep it factual without loaded words like "libel", such as: "This item is authentic. Buyer changed her mind" (or something like that). People will be able to read between the lines

I would assume anything other than a positive comment would be blocked and deleted by eBay.
Send her an email:
Dear Whinny,
You are blocked because you falsely accused me of selling a fake piece it was not. I might consider unblocking you if you contact eBay explain your error and the neg is removed.
If she does and the neg is removed send a thank you note and this message.
I have set my computer to unblock you in 2097. Happy shopping!

I think I would send ebay a certified letter stating that you want the FB removed as it is libelous.
If it was fake - she should have reported it to ebay but she didn't.
Do what alldings said as well. lol

Send her an email:
Dear Whinny,

She probably *is* horse-faced but how could you tell?

First... Don't leave feedback. Anything eBay construes as suggesting a problem will get removed and you may get a warning for violating eBay policies.

Just curious, but have you already confronted her about the feedback?

I would email her back with the following input:

1) Tell her that you think she may have left feedback for the wrong seller and item.

2) I would suggest that she contact eBay to remove the negative and comments. Even provide her the link to do so. Make it easy for her.

3) Explain that you are a professional dealer and an expert for ## years and would NEVER misrepresent something because you wouldn't want something to be misrepresented to you. You treat your customers the way you would want to be treated. Also explain to her that because you are a professional, you are always willing to assist customers with any questions they have, but you never had the opportunity to do so re: fake.

4) Explain why you believe her feedback was an error:

a) you don't sell fakes
b) she never contacted you re: problems
c) she still wants to purchase your items

4) "Temporary" Block: I would explain to her that you placed this block to prevent her from buying other items because of the above. If she is willing to resolve the issue on the previous purchase, you "may" remove the block. Don't say "will" because that is an absolute action. You want to hold that card in your hands until you know for certain where she stands and is cooperative.

See where this goes. If she gives any resistance, I would keep the block and simply move on.

Ebay would nt remove it,but there are cases whEN negs would NOT be counted towards your DSR.

That's funny - I just found out last night a seller blocked me from bidding. Esnipe informed me LOL.

As requested, eSnipe's Rovatron bidding agent connected to eBay 3 seconds before auction end to place your bid. eBay indicates that the seller on this auction has blocked your bids. Contact Seller.

I can't imagine what I did to p*ss them off unless they don't like eSnipe. I emailed them but I imagine my chances of hearing back from them are slim to none.

Geez - I haven't even left feedback for the item I did win {{{{evil grin}}}}

Ahh....he explained. I had an unpaid item strike recently and his blocked bidder list automatically rejected me. He put me on the exception list.

Ebay said it takes physical harrassement/threats serously and we should all report such.
I sold an item to a bidder, she asked enough questions before she placed the order and she knows what she is getting, shipping is free.
When it arrives, she said she is not happy, she asked the same old questions again and demanded a real answer/
Everyday she hurled insults at me,then she said she will file dispute with Paypal and Ebay, then USPS fraud dept and demanded that I reimbursed her for return shipping.
Then she said she will report me to FBI!
Enough is enough,so I filed a complaint with Ebay under the category-physical harrassment.
I have not heard from her since.
try it,all day long we hear how Ebay protects the buyer, who is protecting the seller? The KGB?Gestapo?Atilla the Hun?

My po'd blocked bidder has responded to my professional e-mail by saying she'll remove the negative and untrue comment if I'll unblock her so she can bid on future auctions. I responded by reviewing my actions and told her that she would remain on my blocked bidder list only when she removed the negative comments. She has not threatened any physical actions so I suspect I'll have to put the incident behind me and merely respond to her comment in a positive way. Sigh...
