I've only received 9 FB's this month and they are quoted below. Out of this I received 3 1's. One for As Described, one for communication and one for shipping time.

Of course I don't know if all the ones came for one person or three. I really don't see how this is helping me as a seller as I can't think of anything wrong with any of these transactions and they all sound as if they were pleased with their purchase. "great package protection thanks" wasn't the best FB but the item was great, they got it for a steal and I shipped the day they paid?? OK ebay tell me how I can "LEARN" from this?? What I really want to do is write them all and see if anyone will admit they left me a 1 for anything and why. Of course I won't do that.

Good thing I lost my TRS last month for only selling 97 items or I'd be really ticked.

Lovely woman, would love to work with her again...love my chairs!!

arrived quickly and packed with care.

Great ebayer and A++++ seller !

Great communication, FAST shipping. Thanks! 5 Stars

have you done a report from the previous month to see if these were current?

there really is no method to eBay's DSR madness. It is frustrating because sellers cannot learn anything from DSRs. We don't know the product, the buyer, or the problem.

Maybe someone thought 1's were great... who knows. To make matters worse, we're not allowed to discuss DSRs with customers.

I had the same thought as Shag--maybe the buyer thought a "1" was the top rating.

Is it possible they just left positive feedback without filling in the stars? I have done that accidentally myself.

I'm pretty sure it was someone in this group but you're right - ebay doesn't make it easy to figure out.
I guess that is possible that they thought 1's are good but I include a letter with every shipment and ask that they let me know if I have not given them 5 Star service.
I have a feeling it was the last FB that I got - the one about me being a lovely lady and all.
It was a set of bar stool that I got an offer on. It included free shipping by Greyhound. When I took the offer I asked if there was any station that worked better for her - I didn't hear a word. Email her again and still nothing so I finally called her. When she called back I could tell she wasn't happy about the Greyhound shipping but I pointed out that it was in bold letters in the listing (which of course she didn't read).
We decided that I could ship them to her brother in LA with home delivery. Then a few days later, she called wanting to know when they would arrive in a totally different city???? I called and reminder her that they were going to her brother. She apologized and called herself an airhead.
It makes sense as she is the only one who could not leave a 1 in shipping cost. I don't know if she thinks 1's are the best or not. Shipping was slow but that was due to her lack of communication not mine.
Oh well nothing I can do about it either way - just seems so unfair.
Glassgrl - surely it doesn't work that way??

wait a second... you got a 1 in shipping fees with free shipping???

ebay changed this about a month or so ago. you automatically get 5 stars if you offer free shipping. did you use the "free shipping" option within eBay or did you just note it in the description?

No - shipping cost was the only thing I didn't get a one in which is the main reason I think it could be her. She couldn't leave a one in shipping cost.

I am waiting to get slammed on shipping time since the post office was closed yesterday for Columbus Day. The whole thing is absurd. I have 4.9 across the board but that doesn't mean squat.

ggardenour.....in Canada our Post Office has not worked on Saturday since the 1970's so when we get a Holiday weekend (we just had Canadian Thanksgiving) then we have folks pay us on Friday after 4.30pm and we cannot mail the item until Tuesday. We usually mail either the same or next day after we receive payment.

I always thank people for their payment and tell them that due to...blah........the package will be in the mail on Tuesday. I often get replies that thank me for telling them but it really doesn't matter as they are in no hurry.

I have never received a 1 or even a real hit on my Shipping because of it. (Hope I didn't speak too soon).

I think as long as the Buyer is kept informed that is all you can do and I am sure you will be fine!

otteropp: I do the same thing as you. Some holidays are particularly bad, like Christmas, when the post office can be closed for 4 or 5 days. I always explain to US buyers that we have no weekend mail in Canada. I did get two 1's last month, and my shipping ratings have gone down, even though the majority of my feedbacks mention "fast shipping".

I don't know - what happens to your DSR's when you don't fill out the stars?
