I've received a couple of offers over the last few days (good news). When they come to my inbox in OE, they say Your Terms: Blah Blah but when I click to response, it's says buyer message on the offer page??
There used to be a place that the buyer could make a comment/message and there was another place that the buyer could give additional terms such as "I'll pay this including shipping cost"
There was a big difference as the term was part of the offer - but the message could be some as simply as pack with care.
So which is it now - a term (part of the offer) or just a message??
Is it ebay's plan to just keep everyone confused???

I have never seen an offer coming thru with message like the offer price includes shipping or additional message from the bidder and my shop has been in existence since 3/14/2010.
Ebay always has a statement which said something like shipping is extra.

I received an offer from someone in China a few weeks ago. They offered me $30 and wrote in the notes, "Including shipping". I declined the offer, and will always do so when someone tries this nonsense. I have my parameters set, buyers shouldn't be able to set shipping terms as well.
I was under the impression that eBay did away with this because these were problematic, but here it is again.
I include free shipping within the USA, but compensate for this in my pricing... but the offer was even lower than the cost of just shipping it. I think shipping was closer to $40.

shagmidmod - did you get notice that they stopped it?
I know there was something about if the offer included special terms and you had it pre-set to accept an offer, it would not accept it automatically.
I recall a few years ago that I accepted an offer on a lamp but I had it noted that the shade was free if they wanted it but they would have to pay the shipping as it couldn't be shipped with the lamp (too big).
When I invoiced her, I asked if she want the lamp shade and how much it would cost. She wrote back stating that she had made it part of the offer under the terms. When I checked she had really put it in the message area so the offer was accepted.

hwahwa - I'm going to have to write her to clear it up, I guess. I can't really combine shipping on furniture unless it's something that I can pack together and that doesn't apply here.
