I've looked through pages and pages of carnival glass patterns but haven't found these two. The rose bowl is fairly simple. The small bowl is VERY ornate. It resembles the Persian patterns but there are differences. It has almost a matte finish. Any leads, help and guidance will be greatly appreciated.

The rose bowl is really gorgeous! Wish I could help you on the patterns.

The first piece is a Northwood beaded cable rose bowl.

Did you ever find the pattern for the compote?
If it turns out to be Northwood as well, you may have a collection of Northwood which may help narrow the search for you??? Did they all come from the same place?

Nope...never did find out a pattern/maker for the compote...going to list it tonight with just "green gold compote" title and description. Yes, all of the pieces came from the late mother of a friend of mine...there are several other Northwood pieces...but other makers as well...but will explore various Northwood patterns. The second one is really very interesting...has the ornate design on the inside but the outside has what appear to be grapes/leaves...but again, no evidence of maker. Becoming an expert in carnival glass really is a life-time career since so many makers didn't mark items...I'm in awe of those folks who have immersed themselves in the study. For novices like myself, finding out pattern names/makers is next to impossible because most books/directories are organized by pattern name...and there are literally thousands!

I found it! In Bill Edwards price guide he shows this pattern as Leaf Chain by Fenton. I knew I had seen this pattern somewhere!!

wow pmelcher, thats great research!

I went to the site that I sent to blueyes on the other thread and now knowing the name it was so easy to find.........lol

Here is the link .......I hope it takes you to the right page. But if it does not then click on the link for Fenton Glass part 10, that will take you to the page.

When I have time I still look for the compote but haven't found that yet.

The pattern is for the 2nd piece I think they identified the rose bowl earlier as Northwood.

WOW! Thanks SOOOO much, pmelcher and the rest of you...I'm impressed. Like I've said before, it's easy to find these pieces when the name/maker is known. If those two facts aren't known, then it takes a true genius like pmelcher to solve the mystery! I do appreciate the help!
